Really now? Ask Great Britain how gun control has worked for them... now their Bobbies have to carry firearms because of the black market...Organized crime and gangs have firearms readily now as they are even more sought after with the bans.

In The United Kingdom there are 0.22 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000 inhabitants; for comparison, the figure for the United States was 3.0, and for Germany 0.2

That's well over ten times more in the US. And it doesn't include accidental shootings.

How do those numbers compare with homicides in general, regardless of weapon? What about when you take out inner city young black males out of that stat (gang related, black market gun supply)?
 
Using the tragedy of a school shooting to try and score political points about gun control is just as bad as someone using a protest to paint all Muslims as radicals or a traffic accident to paint all illegal immigrants as murderers or any political scandal to paint an entire party as corrupt. It's just bullshit. Shit happens. That doesn't mean you need to turn into a political opportunist and jump on the dead like a vulture, scavenging on grief to make some tawdry political jab. Have some decency.
 
Newtown, CT-where the shootings took place-is about as unlikely the sort of place for this violence as could be imaginable. It's a small town in northern Fairfield County probably best described as an ex-urb. Fairly wealthy bedroom community, but the type where ordinary people live, not TV and movie stars. Kind of a modern Norman Rockwell type community.

BTW can you gun nuts hold off for at least a day on spewing your arm-everyone-in-sight-in-order-to-make-us-safer garbage out of respect for the families involved this time around?

Looks like it's going to be a bloody Xmas season, especially as the copycats ramp up.

When this shit is happening more and more often (Aurora Theater Shooting, Last week's Mall shooting, now Elementary School Shooting). You have to question the status quo.
