Im not 100% this will work.. but there is absolutely no reason why it should not.

TD has the card for $349.99
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...u=C261-3025%20R

I was looking at neweggs price, and newegg says that there is a $75.00 MIR.. so I checked it out, to see if it was newegg only.

The rebate form says NOTHING about newegg only. It SHOULD work. Even if it doesnt its a great deal.. but Im gonna try it, and hope... I dont think this has been posted...If it has just bitch slap me and delete my original thread.. thank you and goodnight..

btw.. 350-75 = 275..

Look at the pics. The white box means it isn't the retail package. At least thats what the TD rep told me.

Me:0
Dornick: 1

I saw that before, but didnt think much of it.... Its still a good deal for the x850xtpe nonetheless

I might as well still try it. In the pics the white box still does have a upc...

Also (this is first time buying from TD..) Most oem packages ive ever seen doesnt come with everything the retail package comes with.... THat may be connect 3d's retail packaging (rofl)

I just cancelled mine about an hour ago. I talked to a rep and he said there was no UPC on these, and no rebate

Most of the Connect3d cards are retail anyway, usually just sold as OEM.

Regardless though, that rebate is for ATi, not Connect3d

It says Connect3D on the bottom right of the rebate.

If you look at the pictures of the whitebox on the Tigerdirect page, you'll see the UPC on the box matches the required UPC of the rebate.

BUT...

The rebate also states:

Offer available on purchases from qualified e-tailers only. Purchases from non-approved retailers or e-tailers may not be accepted.

edit - Whoops... Linked thumbnail image originally. New link shows full size image for those who didn't have microscopes to read the first one.

Nice find Creig..

Someone said at that TD is listed on ati's site for the rebate... If it comes with a upc I will be extremely happy.

The URL for the rebate above is hosted on a site without a named domain. Who is the rebate through? I'm VERY tempted to grab that X800XT but I want to make sure that I can get the rebate. My budget for a new video card is about $275 tops (which means I'd be likely getting an X800XL) but if this rebate pans out, I'll definitely go for the XT.

Has anyone attempted to call the phone number on the rebate form?

What!? Where have you been?

Anyways I ordered one at 360 shipped. Still a good deal. I will try out the rebate but if doesn`t go through I`m not too worried. The price was still good.

We have until the 31st to buy one of these. For those who already ordered, can you please check the box and verify that there's a UPC?

EDIT: Is this typical for an OEM video card?

Warranty
This product has a limited warranty of:
24 months for parts and 24 months for labor.
This warranty is provided by Connect3D

EDITED AGAIN:

Called TigerDirect myself and they said "This is OEM. [...] If there were a rebate for this product, we would have it on our site." Just confusing is all. 1 year warranty. Pictures on their site depict the box with a UPC barcode. I sent feedback through their system to make sure to have the words "OEM" somewhere on the product information on their site... That particular word is currently nowhere to be found.

It gets even stranger...

Monarch Computer is offering the $75 off on their OEM box.
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...ct_Code=190666&Category_Code=ATI-PCI-E
Granted, their price is nowhere near TD's, but it's still being offered on the OEM.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I called Monarch and the sales representative stated that the rebate on the OEM product works by "removing the serial number sticker from the card, placing on a piece of paper and mailing THAT to the rebate address (after making a copy of the serial # for your records)"

Anyone think this would work with the TD price?

I'm pretty sure this item is refurbished. It's item # is C261-3025 R. Note that last character.

Newegg uses "R" to designate refurbished merchandise, and I wouldn't be surprised if TD does this, too.

I just did a search on "refurbished" on the TD site. I then checked the item number on, for example,

Refurbished Maxtor HD

It's item # is Item #: TSD-160M R

The item # on a non-refurbished maxtor HD does NOT have an "R" as the last character.

No idea.

I called up Tiger Direct again. The sales rep said that he had heard of that option when no UPC is avaialble. He called Connect3D while I was on hold with him and they directed him to have me call ATI Customer Care. Well, ATI Customer Care doesn't deal with the $75 MIR. They only support and have information on the $100 e-coupon when you buy a second Crossfire card.

So I call Tiger Direct up again and the rep I get this time explains that even though Monarch is offering the card with the rebate, the rebates are honored differently based on the retailer - so essentially while Monarch is offering the rebate on the OEM, TigerDirect isn't.

It's still a good price for this card at TD, regardless of the rebate... but it looks like I'll have to get an OEM 800XL instead of an 850XT-PE due to my budget.

This is pretty shady on TD's part. Nowhere in the product info for this card on TD's site does it say that it's refurbished, let alone that it's OEM. The only way that you know it's OEM is because they show you a white box. Ignorant consumers might think otherwise.
