connect3D Radeon x800GTO $183 @ Newegg

If this thing performs anywhere close to the GTO^2, then this is a good deal normal price or not. I got that Sapphire GTO^2 and it just rocks. Play BF2 maxed out without a hiccup.

Yes, that is the going rate for a x800GTO, but 99% of them are moddable to 16 pipelines and many are hitting x850XT performance for a lot less money than you would pay for an x850xt. Many people missed out on the GTO2 deal because they sold out everywhere and the price went up to $280 in just a few days.

Well then, you need to look just a little harder 😉

I needs me a new AGP card.

Still, seems like a good deal.

Amen AGP brother. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm waiting for one of the agp equiv's of this to drop a couple bucks. Here's the link for a 200$ one of these babies. Looks freakin' sweet!

You could check the FS/FT for some X800XL's (a bit slower, but still a great card) that are going for as low as $190 (amount I got mines for).

Not true buddy. The Gto2 had the 100% success rate, the gto itself is highly questionable but if you get the clocks more power to you...

Edit: Here's proof:

The GTO is a 12 pipe version of R420, R423 and even R480; it depends on which chip the vendor wishes to use. The Connect3D X800GTO has a very conservative core clock of 400MHz and a 980MHz memory clock, but the reviews are already claiming the X800GTO is just as good, if not better, for overclocking as the X800GT.

Conclusion:

If you want it fast, get it on ZZF.

If you want to save a few bucks get it on Monarch.

And if you love UPS (argh) then get it on Newegg...

x800gto is not 100% to ulock the pipes, from what ive read there is a possibility that it could be a r480 core, and if you are lucky enough to get one then it is unlockable/overclockable. if you get the r420 then ur shiz out of luck. but from what ive heard the connect 3d have not had a problem. other brands have.

Take a look at FS/T for a gto2.
I just got the gto2 and it screams. I know a guy was selling the one he bought, he only wanted to see if the hype was all it could be.
My card definately lived up to my expectations. I hit 5900 in 3dmark05 (after unlocking the extra pipes and doing a mild overclock) and have yet to push it.
I'm sure it'll easily top 6000.
I paid $227 shipped and added a zalman heatsink/fan.

I know unlocking GTO2 saves you couple of $ but spending $227 + 30 for HSF = ~$260 vs $300 ATI X850XT doesn't make sense.
I rather spend the extra $40 and O/C it so it is comparable to GeForce 7800GTO

Just read the article, Sapphire GTO2 are ATI X850XT
I hear small number of people are seeing artifacts with unlocking GTO2, i guess it's hit or miss.

The GTO2 will definetely do 6000+ on 3dmark05, my connect3d does 6624@570/560, someone on these forums has hit above 7000 with the connect3d@600/560

Hey AGPers, Newegg's weekend sale just reduced the price $5. So that bring's it to $194.
AKA $197.50 shipped

But does it actually unlock? I was under the impression that the only proven unlockable cards were the Sapphire GTO2 and the Connect3D GTO.
