Connect3d ATI X1900GT

I read through the other post on the x1900GT's. It seemed at the time that a lot of people were praising the card. For $199.99 with Mail in Rebate its a hard thing to pass up. I have been a life long 3dfx/Nvidia user, but I'm not going to turn down a clear cut winner at a killer price.

Do you guys think that it would be a wise investment vs a 7600 GT or 7900GT. I read a lot reviews with people having issues with 7900 GT's. I've also stayed away from ATI due to their horrible driver support, I am guessing that has changed since ive been outta the loop?

Are Connect3d ATI based cards comparable to Sapphire/ATI/GECUBE/ etc

First, ATI hasn't had "horrible driver support" in at a very long time, if ever. Their drivers back in the original radeon days may have left a bit to be desired but they are easily the equal of nvidia on the software front these days.

Second, the 7900GT, especially the factory overclocked versions, are faster than a X1900GT in most titles. What games do you play a lot of? The only 7900's with problems were a specific batch from evga and the problem has been eliminated iirc. Both the 7900GT and X1900GT are head-and-shoulders above a 7600GT.

Connect3D is a fine card manufacturer. I don't know what the warranty situation is but that's really the only differentiating factor among manufactuers of ATI cards anyway. Quality-wise, they're all similar.

You know what, I did use search and found one thread. It didn't address what I was wondering about regarding Connect3d quality. No reason to be a dick

Connect3D is an average brand, nothing special but perfectly good quality wise

All ati manufacturers are basically identical. They all adhere to reference design(except for a few dual brand suppliers like gigabyte and Asus) and will all be fine quality wise.

My middle name is Tracy and actually I meant that in a somewhat helpful way. Usually here the 4th time around - we decend to sarcasm and hyperbole with no real new info. Best to read earlier threads, as most get bored with repeating themselves. x1900gt / video in title/body did not give me 1 title?

I put a space between 1900 and GT. I realized not to do that, and just put 1900GT after I made this thread.

Oh well, I see my link doesn't work anyhow. Is a difficult decision as some reviews suggest the 7900gt kills the x1900gt and others reviews make ati's offering seem much superior with close to equal performance and much better IQ. I think really all you can do is pick one that appeals and enjoy it.
