Connect my G1 to my 2004 Kia Rio sound system?

Not sure if this belongs in Garage section. But how do I check if the radio in my 04 Kia Rio has a line in? If so what cable do I need to be able to play my songs from my G1 on my car stereo?

I hope an FM tuner is not my only option, if so what is a good one that comes out clear?

EDIT: Added photos of the car radio

A way to see if I have a line in from these? I checked my owner's manual and it says nothing about the radio.

Thanks

You will have to tell us if it has a line in. Take a good quality pic (in lots of light) of the cars radio and we'll let you know if you have one.

IF you do, you will need to use the special USB audio adapter that should have come with your G1 (seeing as how it does not have a regular headphone jack). Going from that audio adapter you will need to plug in an extention cable for 3.5mm audio and then put the phone in your console or glove box and run the cable to your audio system.

Thats the cheap way. The expensive way is to get a car radio with Blutooth.

Another easy way is a Motorola T505. I have one and love it. Its gets the signal over BT from your phone and has a built in FM transmitter to get it to your stereo. I use mine all the time to steam Pandora. For $60 its a pretty good deal.

If you have the owners manual, that would tell you about your radio. If you don't have a line in, does it have a tape player? If so, your could get a headphone adapter for the G1 and a cassette adapter.

Line-in will be on the back of your deck, but it doesn't look like you have one anyway. There's not many stock decks that include an aux/line-in so looks like it's an FM tuner or entire new deck for you.

As mentioned above, the Motorola T505 seems to be the way to go since you have no line in. It sets up in seconds and works. And you can take it with you when you're in someone else's car, or use it in your house.

Do I have to remove my deck to be able to see if it has Line-In?

Assuming a bigger budget. What would be the best solution to allow my G1 to be my MP3 player for my car? A solution that works well and sounds better than an FM transmitter.

Is there a way to just pay to have some wiring added that gives it a Line-in? Pay someone to do so? If not must I find a way to remove it and replace it with a new radio? Any recommended radios?

Thanks a lot.

Would something like this Bluetooth car radio work? How would the sound from this bluetooth compare to the sound from the Motorola T505? compared to just from a CD?

If so then it would not require any extra cords so I can still have my phone charging. I would have to figure out how to remove the current factory Kia Radio. Is this difficult? Also there would a gap formed as the Kia radio is much larger I think than most aftermarket radios, solution? And my car insurance should theoretically go up for modifying the radio.

Thanks!

Sound from a radio that supports bluetooth audio would be vastly superior to the T505. FM transmitters absolutely suck now. Unless you are in an area where radio stations are few, I'd avoid them.

If you are willing to spend the amount of cash a new deck will cost, you might as well get one with a USB port. With another $50 or so, you could get a 16GB USB stick, and double the storage of the G1.

Installing it yourself can be a bit of a challenge, but I wouldn't say it's hard. The key is getting all of the tools you need before you start. Crutchfield is a great place to go for such info.

if your deck has a cd changer connection, a CD changer adapter can provide a way for you to get an aux in.
