Ok, built a computer, has a gigiabyte G33 integrated video mobo, 2gb of ram, 1gb connection, VISTA, and an e4500.
anyways i can connect at work fine, but when i take it home on the home DSL it wont connect, the lights for the onboard NIC wont even flash. I even try hooking it up to a router to see if that would work and no go. I plug my laptop in at home and no problems what so ever. Now i am tottally miffed by this one, i am a network admin(not the highest knowledge but knowledgable nonetheless) and i dont get it at all, i tried messing with services and all that,
I cant run ipconfig for the simple fact it wont even connect. any advice, and i did all the cord switching and all the simple stuff like unplug the modem and stuff and restart.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

What is the model of DSL modem you're using? Are you using a router at all? Need a little more info here. Also, if you do run ipconfig, what does it return?

k, my laptop worked fine, the dsl modem has the username and password in it because i hooked it up through a router and it worked fine on my laptop internet at all, i would try ipconfig, but i am not getting ANY connection at all, no lights blinking, but i bring it to work and boom, no problems at all, there is no static ip set and even if there were i would still get activity lights which im not getting, so no lights what so ever, but when i get to work, not a problem at all.
