India has elected the 15th lok sabha members ..... Manmohan singh will get another five year term.
For those of you who don't know how things work here India, Let me explain.
India has parliamentary democracy instead of presidential election like in the USA.
That means the prime minister has more power than president.
There are two houses, The Lok sabha and The rajya sabha. The members of lok sabha are elected by the people. The members of Rajya sabha are elite people. There were two parties competiting for the prime minster's post: The congress and the BJP.
No one got thru the half way mark, but the congress had a majority. So it will be invited along with its allies(The UPA, United progressive alliance) to form the government. Manmohan has the highest probability to be the prime minister or else it will be the congress president Sonia Gandhi(For those of you who don't know her, she is a
Italian).
The BJP made some good promises, Like 2 mBps connection @ 6 bucks a month for everyone.(right now its like 1 mBps @ 40 bucks ~ 60 bucks) and even tax exemption to everyone whose annual income is less than 3 hundred thousand rupees(6000$). But its congress all the way.
I will soon add the cabinet members as soon as it will be announced.
Since this topic already exists in P&N and the OP is so excited about it, I'll lock this one.
