are you suggesting we don't have any gun laws at all? yeah why make it easy to prosecute "legal & rightful" gun-owner for using it to kill or attempted to kill people...
there's only a thin line that separate law-abiding citizens and criminals, I'd know being I was previously the former ;)
now I lurk in the dark till the day many of the laws expired and I could go out with my AK-47 on the street hunting party again...
