Lawmakers invited a Yale University psychiatrist professor, Dr. Bandy X. Lee, to Capitol Hill last month to discuss President Trump's "recent behavior," according to Politico.

Why it matters: One Republican Senator was present at the meetings, along with a dozen or so Democrats. Lee said Trump is "going to unravel," and that "the rush of tweeting is an indication of his falling apart under stress. Trump is going to get worse and will become uncontainable with the pressures of the presidency." Politico reports that Lee has been invited to speak again at Rep. Rose DeLauro's house later this month with other lawmakers.

Seems like a fringe faction of Dems, only one Republican (my money's on Flake.)

Likelihood that this picks up steam given the past 48 hours??

Maybe the Dems think that T-Rump has a better chance of getting Dems elected in this election than anyone else? The GOP used Obama against the Dems and it worked. I know full well it worked here in KY.

Most Dems are smart enough to tell the difference between insanity and gross incompetence for a position. The first is legal grounds for removal and the later is not.
 
In the meantime both Hillary and Obama are slapping each other on their backs and digging their elbows in to each other's ribs as they laugh their asses off while wiping away those laughing tears rolling down their cheeks watching the Trump Circus and Reality TV Show make complete asses of themselves.

Years ago Obama revealed just how stressful the job is. So now we have Trump running away from and dodging bullets from both Putin and Mueller as they both exert all kinds of added pressure on Trump all while he's trying to act out his very own special version of being presidential.

Trump must feel like he's in a steaming pressure cooker with no way out of the pot.

Well good for him. He deserves every single painful thing he is inflicting on himself. I hope his supporters are having sympathy pains right along with him. They deserve nothing less and maybe even more 'cuz they put him in there and there's no way for them to get him back out.
 
The problem I have with this is that anybody who has real knowledge looks to be insane to regular people. In the USSR desodents were labeled insane and locked up for treatment.

So many of them do. It's confounding. I never gave a shit about Clinton's blow job (or that he lied about it). I don't care one iota if the Trump/urinating prostitutes story ends up being true either. Trump is a danger to the country and the world in a multitude of ways. I don't think either is laughing about it. They both know that Turmp's administration has already caused Americans real harm, and that we haven't even begun to really see the effects, some of which might be decades long. I'm sure they're not sweating things personally themselves, but I don't see them taking joy in the suffering Americans are going through. Hell, I think Obama genuinely hoped and genuinely tried to help Turmp not be a total shitshow, as he knows that it only harms America.

Indeed. I just hope that he doesn't have a heart attack or something before he faces repercussions for what he's done. Hell thinking about say just the PSU/Joe Pa situation where it robbed people of real closure because he died before he had to actually deal with his actions in basically any regard.

I gave a shit about it and still do because it was part of a pattern of horrible behavior on his part and the way it was handled was shitty. I also think Clinton is massively overrated (I'll give him props where I feel its due, but lots of things, like the economy under him we've since seen was propped up with lies, and then plenty of other centrist behavior, 1996 Telecom Act, lots of things really, but not the time or place to get into that).

I care about that as well because it too is a symptom of problems. FYI, the actual story is that Turmp had prostitutes piss on a bed that Obama slept in (and not them pissing on Turmp as some sexual kink). That shows how his mental state was completely fucked, and its definitely been apparent as he's acted as President. That alone is troubling, that we have a President that is so single-mindedly hatefilled over one person that he's willing to jeopardize the country's well being over it. He's certainly not alone, and that's a major problem too. We have an entire political party devoted to that type of fervor.

Well if you're going to use logic... Then yeah.

As to whether the Administration will take joy in Americans suffering... It's not about that. They don't care if they do. That's a problem. To be so disconnected and make all their decisions from that starting point will never spell relief or good news for Americans.

I agree that both Hillary and Obama are quite concerned and worried about the damage that Trump is causing the nation, his connection with Putin and especially in the area of willy nilly picking judges based on their extremist/activist conservative beliefs as well as the damage Trump is causing to our international relationships, especially with our own allies to name a few from so many others. Thanks for pointing that out.

That being said, there is that very comical side of Trump where he gets himself into some deep shit and then decides to wallow and luxuriate in it as if to say "So what, I like it like this and so do my supporters so nyah nyah nyah". From the point of view that both Obama and Hillary have this vast experience in politics as they witness bush league Trump making one spectacular amateur mistake after another, I'm thinking they, as well as all of those other seasoned politicians from both sides of the aisle can't help but get the giggles watching Trump making a complete ass of himself on a regular basis.

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, which was construed by Congress as being a "high crime or misdemeanor." Whether you agree of disagree with that at least it's a plausible basis for what was ultimately a stupid and self-destructive step to take in actually proceeding with impeachment proceedings. While I'll agree there isn't some bright line test that must be met to begin impeachment proceedings I'd daresay that if it happened in Trump's case for mere "incompetence" then the SCOTUS would step in and halt it. And again this is all moot because it ain't going to happen unless/until Trump does something that actually is a "high crime or misdemeanor." Look, I don't support Trump, thought he was the worst possible candidate in the last election (I'm on record here saying I would have voted Jill Stein over him) but I operate in the world of reality that acknowledges he won't be removed from office merely because he's an idiot that never should have been elected.

SCOTUS has no jurisdiction in what is a purely political process.

This was actually tested once I think for a judge and decided against on the basis of separation of powers, IIRC.

I wonder what side you will comedown on say is he was found to have lied under oath about any collusion with Russia and have impeachment proceedings brought against him. Remember Collusion in and of itself is not a crime, unlike adultery which is illegal in 21 states. It will be interesting......

I have asked this before and never received a response but... Of those who were against Clinton being charged with perjury, would you also be OK with your spouse lying, and getting away with it, during your divorce proceedings? I mean it was only sex.
