Well, after a very difficult 18 months, I accepted a full-time job today.
I'll be doing level 2- desktop support for a major insurance company. We will start rolling out Windows 2000 Pro to the users this next month, so I'll be right in the middle of that as well. I have been working as a temp for this company for 2 months, and have found it a great place to work with many good people to work with.

I wish to thank the many encouraging members of this forum who have supported me over my troubled times. I now wish that the same concern can now be focused to the others in our community that are in need at the present time.

I wish ViRGE. A little bit beyond company policy though.

I take care of ~600 users now, with the average CPU 400 mhz.
Every machine slower than a 200 gets replaced with a 933....

240 ghz and climbing. :eek:

Congrats on the new job Viz! I hope that insurance company you'll be working for treats you right! Too bad you won't be able to install the client on all those machines. :( I know how you feel. I co-manage an account for the company I work for. We take care of about 2500 field reps, most have 400+mhz laptops with a good chunk having 600+. :D

CONGRATS MAN!!!!!!! Like me, you are going to be doing the same type of work. I just started doing this about a month ago and I am loving it. Good luck and hope to move up the IT chain together. Maybe we will become a Admin about the same time and maybe the same company. :p

Funny reading your letter. I accepted an offer with a LARGE insurance company as well. I will be doing the samething, a W2K rollout. I will be in NYC.
Where abouts are you working? It would be great if it were the same place.
