Aside from the signing bonus and 25% pay increase, the best thing is my former company has the policy to pay us the 2 week notice period to stay at home since I am going to work for a direct competitor.
I now get the holiday's off. I originally tried to request these vacation days off at the begining of the year but was denied because someone beat me to it.

I am going to hit the BWW in Palatine (the one off Euclid and 12) tonight. Wife and 11 month old daughter are taking me out. And I don't have to drive.

I am going to work for a direct competitor. So, I get sent home so I don't go rogue and start writing bad business.
I underwrite insurance. I could easily go rogue and write $5M policies on crappy companies.

Rather silly since I could have done that weeks ago when this was all in the works. I'm not going to complain though.
Oh and I get to save $400 in daycare costs too.

I wasn't much of one to net, more of a lurker, but this new job is going to be cutting in on that. I'll have to make up for it in the next 2 weeks since it is too cold outside to do anything.
