Confusing sign on the back of an old pickup.

So I saw a cardboard sign taped to the back off an old pickup in front of me today that said "Puppy's For Sale". I was confused.

The owner of the truck was letting road-going motorists know that he is interested in trading juvenile canine offspring for some form of currency.

If we break it down to what he wrote....

The truck was for sale.

Interstate Grammar Nazis! I hate those guys.

I'm confused. I read it as puppy(singular) is for sale.

Edit:
I suppose I'm being too pedantic here :^/

Then he helped his uncle Jack off a horse.

Reading that sign I'd guess he meant the truck, but might still look in the back for a basket full o' puppies.

That doesn't mean the truck is for sale and he's calling the truck a puppy, you idiots.

He was probably at some point selling puppies out of the back of the truck (not uncommon) and didn't take the sign off.

EDIT: Just re-read thread, oops. Too stressed out.

See I was thinking something of the Puppy was for sale. It never dawned on me that his truck was named Puppy and it's for sale. Or maybe their was a big sale on Puppy's "for" somewhere.
