confused!!

i juz bought the 1X2 gig kingston hyper-x ddr2 800mhz.y in bios it run in 533mhz but in
windows it run back to 800mhz??this is wat the technician told me bout dis.my mobo is intel 965.then he said when i reset my bios i need to set the memory back to 533mhz.then only my ram will function normally.is it really work like this???

Do you mean that you set the memory to 533 mhz in BIOS and then it actually runs at 800 mhz?

If you use CPU-Z, what does it say about memory speed in the memory tab for Frequency?

I ran it through babelfish already so I'll have a stab at it:

Your memory will run at DDR2-533 speeds as default. You bought DDR2-800 but you don't need it unless you are changing stuff, so if you're just going to put it all together and turn it on then you're not going to be using the whole DDR2-800. Change the memory ratio in your BIOS, if you want, to 2:3 to run your memory at DDR2-800 speed, or leave the memory in 1:1 with it if you're going to be overclocking; that way the memory speed can come up in line with the FSB.

BOTTOM LINE:
IF YOU'RE NOT OVERCLOCKING OR CHANGING YOUR MEMORY RATIO, ANYTHING OVER DDR2-533 IS A WASTE BECAUSE IT'LL JUST RUN AS DDR2-533 ANYWAY
