It wasn't our idea to suddenly have 47 forums plus we don't moderate every thread, just what we notice. Cut us some slack, we're really all in this together.

You of all people should have some sympathy for us moderator "authority figures" -- no unis, no pension, no pay . . . everyone hates on us anyway and we command all the respect of a mall cop.

The more Mods the more moderating which would result in more whining about the Moderators here in PFI.

I actually think it would be a good idea to give junior mods that frequent other forums, and that actually want it, the ability to move topics between forums. Maybe once we switch over to vB, something like that could be put in place.

Actually I've heard that arguing that you were only going with the flow of traffic is a legal "out" to beat a speeding ticket in court. You need to be consciously aware that you are breaking the law; you could argue that you were trying to avoid a road hazard or a bad driver and weren't focusing on the speedometer. :beer:

For once I agree with Oldsmoboat to a large extent. Really and truly, I don't see the moderators that were breaking the rules moderating very much any more.

Anand has paid for and maintained this site for years. I feel that some respect is due in light of how much people here learn. It's easy to focus on the negative if that's what you want to do. Look at it as a blessing and it won't bother you. :beer:

I actually like the idea of several junior mods who can move threads and issue warnings, nothing else.
Then 1 mid-level mod for each forum with lock and delete priviledges.
Then 1 senior mod for each section of the forums with ban & vacation power.
Then the master/mistress mod over all. Who can move mountains and vaporize oceans and put sharks with laser beams and perhaps even make decent fried eggs.

Just a thought.

The master mod would have to be Anand. He owns this place. If you don't run things that you own yourself, you're setting yourself up for failure to one extent or another. Either that or have the master mod elected. :light:

They have the right to post here as long as they use common sense, do not act like idiots, respect the other posters who may not have the same viewpoint, do not try to take advantage of others, as use civil attitudes.

That covers 99,5% of the posters at AT.
The other 0.5% seem to think that they are special and rules should not apply to them.

Guess what, the Mods do not need those 0.5%, the site does not; and do not have to tolerate their antics.
