I just found out how goofy this stupid COD series really is ok, i own officially 2 COD games being both Black Ops 1+2.The $20 sale for the deluxe edition of BO2 currently on steam was to good to pass up.

Just gonna put the frame rate each game gets here on a x4 9150e/4gb ddr2/gtx770 based rig sitting at a resolution of 1366x768 which is the native resolution my screen supports.

BO1: 25fps min/30's avg/50's max

BO2:75fps min/100's avg/151's max

I do got WAW downloading which came with this game so that should be fun to compare with as well.

How in the living hell can BO2 run so well on this x4 9150e?I just installed it checking out what i got for $20 expecting the stuttering, festering bs i got with BO1 but nope, runs like butter.

BO2 does push the x4 9150e though, all cores load in the 92-96% range which is even higher then BF4's usage.

COD uses a tired engine sure from 2007 as i am sure someone here is gonna post with a anti-cod comment of a sort but i got games as old as UT2004 that run worst on this cpu....

I know little about the COD series but WAW freaking runs worst then BO2 and its a 2008 title.Runs better then BO1 sure making it a decent port i guess but damn.WAW didn't stutter like BO1 did but it hitting about 51-90fps quite often dipping into the 50s.

Are the ports just that horrible for COD that BO2 just looks great performance wise cause of it being a clean port?

I know Ghost and Advanced Warfare pretty much have their issues and should be avoided on pc,not even interested in them.

Black Ops 2 is by far the best PC port of any COD game in terms of performance.

I love the fact it doesn't have that disgusting 91fps cap also which i absolute hate in BO1 i don't even bother playing it no more cause of all the weird hitching it brings at least for me.

Can't wait to see what my i7 3770 will do for this game when i get my replacement motherboard.:p

Guessing if a x4 9150e delivers a average of well over 100 a i7 3770 pretty much should put me well over 200fps and this game could use that i am sure.X4 9150E does hitch a tiny bit but believe it or not this game still is twice as smooth easily then BO1 with my i7 still lol.

Wow, you are describing BO1 exactly how I describe Advanced Warfare (91fps cap, tons of hitching/stuttering)

Sounds like AW engine is forked off the BO1 build (they have been working on it for 3 years)

Has that weird vsync type lag to it,i am sure you know what i mean too. Can't stand playing games like that.

I have been interested in getting AW for pc, since I just built a new rig, but not that I know it's on an old, terribly set up engine

funny because sledgehammer claimed it was an all new engine

there is so much blatant lying in game development

While they did tell some lies, namely that dedicated servers would be in. I don't see your jump regarding the engine. You have no evidence of this other than the cap which could be put into literally any engine, it is literally a variable in a configuration somewhere.

Out of curiosity i figured i would revert my drivers to 327.23 dated September 19th 2013 to see if this game benefited from the 337.50+ series drivers explaining this weird issue i noticed with these games.

http://gamegpu.ru/action-/-fps-/-tps/call-of-duty-black-ops-ii-test-gpu.html

The above review claims a x4 620 ran worst, talking like nearly 20fps min/60fps avg hit in comparison which is why i was seriously confused with my numbers for a severely worst cpu.

I should reinstall WAW just to compare my findings but the game pretty much had quite a bit less cpu usage, equally as much stutter as BO1 but it pretty much had almost exactly the same performance as WAW fps wise which was weird.

Guess perhaps these newer drivers benefit just BO2,327.23 pretty much came out 10 months after BO2 debuted so plenty of time for maturity there.Never really saw any of my other games benefit so greatly from 337.50+ drivers.

I skipped BO1 when I heard of the performance issues on release.

When BO2 came out I jumped on it. It is a beautiful piece of software. Not only is it very easy to run on systems its very fun as well. It's the best COD in years and still is the best IMO.

Each company that releases a COD now uses their own engine. And in BO2 case they nailed it. It's what everyone should expect in this day and age; a program that runs like butter.

AW runs very well for me. But there's no doubt this is an old engine. Can run it with DSR 4k easily all settings maxed single 980.

This is why I don't preorder games or buy them within the first month of release. I wait for the bugs to be ironed out and see if they plan on EVER fixing performance issues.

We as gamers DESERVE the bad quality of games we get. Until we stop preorder/buying games at launch day, we'll continue to get horrible games that never get patched. Why would a dev patch a game when we A) Purchase it at launch day (They get their money already) and B) purchase the sequel afterwards at launch day after already receiving an unfinished product the first time around.
