Hello, I am looking to upgrade my system ram from what I have currently which is a 256MB stick of Kingston value ram PC2100 and I am confused as what to get.

Now My CPU is an Athlon XP 2100+ (Palermo) with a system bus of 266mhz I think. Just upgraded to an Asus A7N8X nforce2 ultra 400 to replace my ECS KS75A that died recently. I am also runing Windows XP pro.

Now here are my questions on what to get?
Should i just get a 512MB PC3200 stick and remove the 256MB PC2100 stick for a total of 512MB RAM at PC3200 speed.
Or should I get a 512MB PC3200 stick and add it in there along with the 256MB PC2100 stick for a total of 768MB ram at PC2100 speed.

Also if I run at the higher clock speed then won?t that go to waste anyways because of the slower FSB?

I think I have read in many places a long time ago (so can't remember any links) that it is best to run RAM in synch with the fsb, going faster than the fsb is unlikely to provide any performance improvements
