Confused?? BestBuy and Circuit City one company?

I ordered an audio CD from BestBuy.com. The CD arrived and I was looking at the packing slip, it has the big BestBuy.com logo at the top, my shipping info, my order info, and for the confusing part the contacting us info --- email: ecommerce@circuitcity.com and phone: 800-THE CITY. Are BestBuy and Circuit City one? I don't think so but how could there be a mix up like this on an invoice from BestBuy.

That's really weird...as far as I know, they are two separate companies. Not like GAP and Old Navy, but completely separate.

Gap and Old Navy are related??

Circuit City's parent company is a foreign company I thought which owned banks in Europe?

I don't know about Best Buy, but I beleive it is an American company

Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic are all part of the same company.

As far as gap,The pecking order is as follows:

Express, Banana replublic

Gap

Old Navy

oft-times you will see very similiar outfits at all three, except at old navy the price tags will be saled down to $19, $29 at gap, and $39 at express and BR.

I can scan it when I get home. I was totally confused whenever I saw this. It is actually funny. Someone screwed up somewhere, but who. I am calling BestBuy to inquire about it 🙂

They're definitely not related. Most likely scenario is that they both use the same third-party company for order fulfillment of certain items.

The company probably shipped the item directly to you but somehow the packing slip stock got screwed up or something.

Express is NOT related to The Gap.

Express is owned by The Limited, which is also Victoria's Secret...

Probably a mistake by Ingram Micro. I think both BB and CC use it to drop ship stuff.

most likely, though i didn't know ingram distributed audio cds.

I heard yesterday that CirCity is in trouble. Their stock in around $4 per share. These guys were talking about CirCity selling a bunch of stuff for quick cash. Could be Best Buy bought a batch and even had it shipped from a CirCity warehouse. Just speculation.

Y do u think, when u see ads for Cd's it says it will say BB or CC, and not anywhere else, you would think sam goodie and other music stores would get the Cds also, but the comany that owns BB prob owns CC, and a ton of other companies

That is correct, and the pecking order is a little out of whack too. It should be:

Gap

Banana Republic

Old Navy

Gap is the parent company and listed on the NYSE. In fact, Old Navy only recently became incorporated, though all corporate functions fall under Gap still.

I notice that the postage sticker shows SmartMail Services, that must be the company that does the fullfillment for BestBuy and CircuityCity. Here is there site.

This is there about us page. I guess that they aren't so SMART after all 🙂 I mean that missed up the invoice info.

Hey MarshMellow, what's wrong with Motley and that album was released in 2003 (the re-release any way) 🙂

Tandy is no more. They legally changed there name to Radio Shack Corp some time ago.

Most likley the printing of the packing slip was just a mistake since they probably ship for both companies.

I highly doubt it

"Minneapolis-based Best Buy Co., Inc. is North America?s No. 1 specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances. Dude, no way. As the other poster indicated, Best Buy is owned and operated out of Minneapolis, MN. Circuit City is owned out of Richmond, VA. C.C. also has CarMax under their wing, but it has been split off as a separate company.
