flashing the BIOS to a newer version isn't the same thing as "clearing" the bios
generally "clearing" the bios is done by moving a jumper on the motherboard to set everything back to the default settings. this is sometimes needed when changing the CPU, depending on if any custom CPU/clock settings were put in place with the old CPU. in general, if the bios settings are all automatic/default, then "clearing" the bios isn't necessary
flashing to a newer bios version might be needed if the cpu is a newer/higher clock speed cpu than the one that was in place
so whether you meant "flash" or "clear" , the answer to both is "it depends"
Not normally. Bios flashing or updating isn't always a good idea. Unless a new bios addresses a specific problem that you are having I wouldn't mess with it. Plug it in, put your hsf on and fire it up!
