I am set on getting the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo, but I have a question about the Ethernet card. I know that one is built into the mobo, but does anyone suggest buying a separate card like an Intel Pro? The reason I ask is that I have read some issues with broadband connections using the stock card.

In both my rigs I am suing Asus MOBO`S I have no internet issues at all with these riggs.

I even had a seperate ethernet card lying around and did a test between that card and the onboard ethernet.....there was no difference in speed or connectivity whatsoever.

Ever since Ethernet ports have been built into motherboards I've used them and never had any issues. Besides, it saves money, space, and power.

Just use the one that came with the board. There's nothing wrong with using them and you shouldn't have any problems with it at all.

modern motherboards come with very efficient ethernet chips now. old motherboards used to have ethernet chips that use up a lot of cpu cycle making them inefficient.

I use the ethernet hookup with my mobos with no problems. I have a lot of ethernet cards lying around in case, but haven't needed them yet.
I use a NetGear's FA101 USB ethernet adapter when my clients' computers lack a ethernet connection, for downloads during repairs.

The ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe is no longer in production. But the A8N-SLI premium is almost the same (it's actually a little better).

I've been using the nForce chipset RAID for about 1 year now, without any real problems.
