Confused about ATA133 on P4C800

Do I understand correctly that the P4C800 has a Promise ATA133 RAID controller with one PATA channel?

Any problem in connecting an ATA133 Maxtor to that channel as a NON-RAID (standard) drive?

Well, promise fasttrax 100 cards have no problem with running hard drives as single drives, so I doubt this newer chip of theirs would have a problem. At the same time, I haven't tested it out so I can't assure you of that.

Yes, the P4C800 will allow five hard drives without resorting to SATA.
You may only connect a hard drive to the PATA (i.e.no DVD, CDR, CD-RW, LS-120, etc.).
You may use two hard drives on the SATAs (1 for each connector) so the total this way could be six hard drives ? the above caveat not withstanding.
