confused : 570 vs 6850 cf

Can someone help me (sorry for my bad english 🙂 )

i wanna ask about 6850 cf and gtx 570 ..
I still confused which one best for my rig ..
I use this graphic card for 3 years ahead ,.

My spec :
Intel i5 2400
Biostar tp67xe
2x2 gb g skill
Psu 650w seasonic
Hdd 1 tb caviar black

I play at 22" full HD ..
I saw at benchmark in web , cf 6850 beat 570, 580, and 5970 in some games ..
But I hear about the stability, 6850 cf is not stable because the driver , example BFBC 2 issues ..is it real ?

can someone give me an advice ? Which one is the best for me ?

Single card solution is always better then 2 lower cards in Xfire or SLI. Ati drivers are better then last generation in Xfire but you'll still have issues.

Why you choose single card ?
Maybe because the stability ?
 
How much does each setup cost. If the 570 is a bit more expensive, i don't think its worth the advantages of a single card to pay more for less performance. If they are close to the same then a single card is better.

6850 cf : around 410 $

which one do you choose ?

The Crossfire setup will be faster and likely be better into the future. The downside is that it is possible that in some games, if Crossfire isn't working then that game may only utilize one card. Also, you are introducing a bit more complexity into the system by having two cards.

It's a tough choice, either option should be decent for 1080P, but I think dual 6850's will serve you better 2-3 three years into the future. Of course you could always get the GTX570 now and buy another one in a year or so if you feel you need more horsepower.
 
Another thing to think about is heat. What case are you using? I had the same problem choosing my card. My case isn't made for high air flow and two cards would definately heat things up quite a bit.

You should just go with nVidia, I have noticed that people who jump ship and already have a certain mindset that the other side has bad drivers or bad hardware usually end up being unhappy so, to save you the trouble, buy the GTX 460 1 GB or a GTX 560.
 
Kinda odd, I've never had any flickering issues except some minor scaling stuff with Splinter Cell Conviction. My HD 4870 CF performed admirably.

I don't have any experience with CF... yet. I have a second 5870 sitting on my desk, I just need to get some energy and swap all of my components from my current mid tower to the full tower I just bought.

If you were comparing a GTX580 and 6850CF I'd probably be more inclined to go with the single card. But in this case the 6850CF set up is probably sufficiently faster than the GTX570 that it would be your better choice.

At your resolution you will not notice the max fps you will notice minimum fps. So the only advantage 6850 xfire will give you is void. The 570 will have better minimum fps,better dx11,physx,folding,cooler,quieter,cheaper,no xfire headaches, and you can get another 570 later if you upgrade monitors. I think its pointless to deal with xfire at your resolution so the 570 is an easy choice.

about the minimum fps..
as far as i know when i read the 6850 cf benchmark in this site and guru3d , the minimum fps never below than 30 fps .. so 30 fps is still playable right ?

so you think if i use 6850 CF is overkill with my resolution now ?

i think multi-GPU now limits you for future upgrades.

Who knows in a year or two you may have a bigger display. Buying a GTX 570 will give you the option for adding a second one, later on.

You can also buy *one* HD 6850 now and one later on, if you are anticipating any price drops. Scaling in both SLI and CF is excellent in my experience (GTX 560SLI/460SLI/450SLI & HD 6870CF/5870CF/6970CF) and there are few issues that cannot be resolved with a little tweaking.

Personally I would go for the single card solution simply because you are at the mercy of drivers when it comes to scaling. While you may see 100% scaling in some games, in others you may not see scaling at all (thus performance would be nearly the same as having a single card). This is true of both CF and SLI.

Folding? Not sure if thats something hes interested in.
Phsyx? Meh, ok.
Cooler, quieter? My CF 6850s currently runs at ~35c and i can't hear them.. at all. NEXT.
Xfire headaches? This is 2011, games are meant to run with multiGPU setups, so please stop with that old excuse.

hmm i think i won't buy any monitor again, i love to play with just a single display 🙂
hmm so you have an experience with dual graphic card, what do you mean "cannot be resolved with a little tweaking" ? it's mean we must do something like reflash the bios?

do you realize that all benchmark web in net use same games ? like crysis, metro 2033,dirt, BFBC2 ..
what about another games scaling ?

and what do you think about single 6850 ? it is enough for old games, except i listed above ? if is enough , it's no problem, i can play old games with single gpu, and when i wanna play metro 2033, i can turn on the crossfire . cmiiw

A single 6850 should be able to max, or near max most current games outside of maybe Crysis and Metro 2033.
