I am confuse with the Pentium, Intel has:

1. Intel Xeon 3.06GHz 533MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology
2. Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0E GHz 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache, Hyper Threading Technology
3. Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512KB L2 Cache, Hyper Threading Technology

What is the differences b/w these 3?

Also, I am thinking to get MSI 875P NEO-FISR i875P Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU, is this compatible with one of those three CPUs?

Thanks a lot

1. is a server chip.
2. and 3. are meant for desktop/everyday PC's.

2. The 3.0E is a Prescott core.
3. The 3.0C is a Northwood core.

Both 2. and 3. will fit in the MSI motherboard.

I would recommend the 3.0C.

I see.

I thot E means Extreme Edition, and that is supposed to be the fastest one. But I don't know exactly.

From this link, which one do you think is the best for P4 3.0C? I'm looking for a cheaper-reliable one, since I'm not really into computer.

EE means Extreme Edition.

Does it have to be a MSI board?
