I have about 15 filters i've set with special words in the subject line to be filtered out.
I get spam mail on my msn.com account and I think it's affiliated with Microsoft.
What other reasons would there be for not filtering out ?

Yes the software might be the cause of it, but I highly doubt it. It's only from this one specific place that gets through, and I can't even block them since they seem to be using a bootleg email address.

Do I have any recourse ?

I got that account when I had DSL with MSN.
they called it quits on DSL in my location so I have the email which they offered to me ( I dont think you can sign up for .msn.com email addresses )
Now i have earthlink but I use msn since I've had it for awhile

It's kind of hard to do that when you have 7 years worth of net experience connected to 1 email account.

Sure you might want to monitor it for a month, and contact people to update their info on you, but to completely cover everything is a bit hard, and in the end, it might cost you.

Well, that's my fear anyway.

isekii, have you tried "block sender?" I block their e-mail domain, not just the e-mail. Of course, lots of spam is with commone domains, like hotmail or yahoo, but my junk mail is fairly low when I combine that with the middle level of junk mail protection

I think sometimes Hotmail deliberately screws with you so will you pay for their spam tools.

My custom filters (only get 10) actually work reasonably well.

isekii, I don't think you can do any advanced filtering under Hotmail's standard options, so that.......sucks :(
