*CONFIRMED* gas shortages in NC, SC, FL, elsewhere in southeast

My dad just told me this was the situation this evening and into tonite. My mom went out to get gas after dinner and she couldn't find an open station within 3 miles. Is this just a local thing or is this all over town?

I live outside of Raleigh, and my local stations said they would run out of gas tonight.

EDIT: my local honest guy is leaving his at 2.79 rather than raising to 3 bucks until he's sold out. so at least he is not gouging people.

Fiancee was running low... 3 gas stations she stopped at here in Sarasota, FL were out... 🙁

This is not a nationwide thing, just in our (NC/SC) area I believe. Gas station bastards raised the gas prices here from 2.69 to 2.99 a gallon when everyone was filling up. Luckily I filled my car up yesterday in SC for 2.49/gallon. My truck still has half/tank left but I'm not going to go fill it up.

A lot of gas stations are selling regular for $3/gallon here in SoCal (up $20 cents). No people waiting in line at gas stations either

Crap. I wonder if the whole southeast might be affected? Typically that's where the cheapest gas is too (GA and SC still had gas well under $2 before Katrina.)

We're just lucky since trucks can drive straight to the refinery to pick up gas.

My local Mobil station ran out of regular - some people were leaving cause they didn't want to spend the extra 33 cents for premium. Screw that, I topped off on the good stuff 😀
