I'm not even buying Xbox Live till there's more content out for it. However cool it is, I know about "monthly" updates, playing AC. It's really frustrating when content is promised and never comes. And most of the time these fuxxors like to put dates out there, get people to buy the product, and then they flake. I'll wait till I know Halo2 will be out, 100%, and then buy Xbox Live so my full year covers it.

$50 for a year includes head set. Performance with DSL will be great.

I know it's $50 for the starter kit and the first year free. But what about the annual subscription after that? Or monthly subscription...

Assuming your ISP doesn't employ total morons, that is.
Broadband service isn't necessarily a guarantee that you won't see any lag or have intermittent connectivity problems with certain games or matches. Solid netcode in the game has a lot to do with match performance as well.

That being said...I switched from a cable connection to DSL just last week, and it has made a PHENOMENAL difference. I am no longer dropping at launch, or lagging out of games, and can actually host matches in MA once again.

I'm thinking about picking up MA for some four player goodness. I doubt I'll be going on live, as eventually I'm going to mod this xbox, and I've heard rumors that would make a second live-only xbox worth buying.

Will this content be available to those of us who forgo live?

My ISP capped my upload at 18KBps because of "excessive use" (WeverTF that means)... is this bad for XBOX Live ? Upload speed that is...

Based on a survey MS is running it looks as if it will be 49.99 a year or 29.99 per 3 months.
