**CONFIRMED** BMW X3 SAV SUV Soft-ute, whatever you want to called it unveiled

Lacks the viscious look of the X5. Doesn't seem impressive to me, visually at least. The front looks mangled.
 
bleh, bmw sport utlity. never was a big fan of any "luxury" sport utlity, except for maybe an escalade and the like for the pimp factor 😉.

IMO, lexus, bmw, and the like dont appeal to me in that market, its a waste, like the people driving them are gonna go off of a paved road, except for a few exceptions

So this is BMW's response to the Audi All Road?

Ok just a couple points:

1) Black plastic cladding? People will NOT being off-roading this vehicle. Why the hell would you put plastic cladding all over the front and side sills?
2) Overall look is ugly, especially the rear taillights. Its an interesting look, granted, but it doesn't flow. The Z4 is a perfect example of a weird design with lines that all match and fit in with each other. This is just ugly.
3) The interior design looks a lot like the new 5-series, but better executed. Thumbs up.

Verdict: What's the point?

He's been working for BMW since the early/mid 90's hasn't he? From what I've understood, the execs wanted a new look and Bangle stepped up to produce. He just designs them. The execs have to make the final decision.
 
Hmm, about as appealing to me as the Lexus IS300 wagon...bleeeeeeeeeeeccccccccchhhhhh

pretty awful but I am sure some will buy it but then again opinions are like A holes...

Agreed.

Designs that are not nearly up to BMW quality are being projectile vomited to market. Yuck. I'm just happy that he hasn't touched the 3 series...yet. 😱

It's not that they are bad...but they aren't BMW good.
 
Exterior is ugly. Interior is not bad. I'm not too fond of these weird looking SUVs, they look like station wagons gone bad. In other words, they just don't look right...
 
Is this like a luxury version of the RAV4/CRV (in terms of size)? I saw the preview of this vehicle on www.bmwusa.com

It has a nice interior, that's the only positive thing I can say about it. I don't really see the point of the car in the current market.

btw, Bangle also designed the beautiful E46 M3.
 
Meh.

Doesn't really do a whole lot for me. If it's really 40K, I'd much rather have an FX45 or a Touareg in it's place.
