Configuring a touchpad?

Howdy,

Have a Gateway laptop here I just put Win7 on. THe touchpad has the section on the right side that you can use to scroll the window by swiping your finger in that area. Problem is, the "area" goes almost halfway across the touchpad and it's really annoying.

Anyone know if there's a way to configure the touchpad to make the scroll area smaller or disable it completely?

Gateway only has Vista drivers listed on their website. An

The Vista drivers will work on Win7.

Actually I just found some funky new drivers on Synaptics' site and installed those and they are cool. All kinds of neat new features. I'll hang with these unless they give me trouble.

Yea, synaptics has a good amount of features. Only thing is they lock some features out for certain models which weren't straightforward in registry like nVidia's drivers. Also check out twofingerscroll. Smooth option is so nice.
