And actually I believe that most people aren't taking the fatalist position that the ~! and ~buts here do but think what you wish if it helps you sleep at night.

BTW - I get paid weekly:D

Okay Cad, what/who are these ~! and ~buts you keep mentioning? Is it something akin to the "But, Clinton . . ." types? :)

I thought this was established a while back.

Here it goes.
~! is an angry libbie
~but is one who see but also tries to excuse the good because of some little percieved "bad".

Too funny. I guessed I missed the memo. :) So the ~! are the equivalent of the "Kerry ate a baby!" and the ~but are the equivalent of the "But, Clinton . . ." Got it.

Here's the result of all the Consumer spending ON CREDIT CARDS that CAD & Co are so proud of:

3-5-2004 Americans Struggle with Credit Card Bills

Americans, facing a weak labor market, are struggling to pay off their credit card bills, according to an industry survey released on Friday.

At the same time, they have no plans to rein in their spending, which accounts for two-thirds of the U.S. economy

In the latest survey, 49 percent of those who are taking on more debt said they are borrowing more because they do not have the money to pay in full when the credit card bills arrive.

In March, 40 percent of Americans surveyed plan to take on more debt to make purchases, up from February's 37 percent, the survey said.

- nice spin dave. Care to point out where I stated I was proud of consumers spending via credit cards? Didn't think so...

Anyway - it looks like Consumer credit is bullish

Just posted this in the other thread too. You'll see that charrison posted this link above.

Time to get fitted up with a ball and chain so we can pay off the debt we owe to the mega corporations. Wait isnt this what they did to indentured servants way back whenever. Seems like they got the better end of the deal though atleast their masters gave them food and shelter.

~so if we have a gazillion dollar debt
~so fill in the blank

As long as CAD and Co. get their biweekly direct deposits, fvck anyone else.

The party of greed, no compassion, and ~SO.

Pft, should give you your own state, like Montana and wall all you happy well off cons in it with your families. You can rewrite your constitution to further suit your needs, Bush can be your King, and you can be free in inbreed with impunity. Kind of like your own personal Xanadu. We'll send postcards.

rolleye.gif
- Maybe you should join the rest of us here in a place called REALITY. Millions have been out of work before - do you understand that there is ALWAYS unemployment?
Do you understand the value of Freedom and security?
Do you understand that our debt really isn't out of line with GDP?

So yeah, while things could be better - things really aren't as bad as the red-faced spittle spewing leftists are making it out to be.

Some day you'll learn these things leetleboy...if reality becomes a part of your thinking.

CkG

Typical CAD inane drivel. Your argument is lost on me and the well over 50% of Americans needed to oust your Chumpion. Na na na na, hey hey hey, bite down harder CAD. Pft.

Aww....did I touch a nerve by responding to your little rant? Poor guy...

You rent no space in my head CAD, but your arrogance is assuming you would is indicitive of your and most of your party members. You are the child who couldn't type his post without adding some letters to my screen name, must have been a twitch from the nerve I struck, huh? Your King has been check mated. New game.

And what is I heard all over the news radio stations today that only a scant 21,000 jobs or so were created last month, down from some 100.000+ the preceeding month. And WHAT... 600,000 people last month totally gave up their hopes of finding jobs? People who are no longer counted in the unemployment figures. The ugliest statistic that you could care less about CAD is that the REAL unemployment number is around 10-12% nationwide. Get real man, you could care less about anyone outside your backyard and we are HAPPY you are on the other team, makes beating you so much more fun. Bye bye ~so.

Maybe you can write a LISP routine to make sense of that?

Yeah, us "inbreeders" are full of nerves:p Got anything else to whine about? Seems you like to dish them out but can't take them. Go figure...

Oh, and BTW - writing one's own lisp programs for what I do isn't necessary anymore for the most part(except batch plotting since the one AutoCAD has sucks for what I design/draw. ViaDevelopment was purchased by Autodesk so my LISP routines are pretty much worthless now since Autodesk incorporated Via's add on directly into AutoCAD2004 Electrical I still think my routines were enough for what we do, but this integrates similar ones directly into ACAD and created a "project" type shell to it all. It's great and it saves me time, plus I can run I/O reports and create parts lists internally. Not to mention less actual drawing time so I can spend more of my time designing systems to help put more unskilled Americans out of work.;)

Different groups, people, political parties have different agendas and priorities. perception is reality. your reality is clearly not the same as mine, i don't expect your perception of the economy to be the same as mine, no matter what.

i wondered if what you said might be true..

so one penny - 2.74 grams
907,184.74 grams per ton

approximately 3300 dollars (in pennies) = 1 ton of "money"

so Dave is actually half right!
i do have "tons" of money..gosh, i feel even better about myself!!

Weren't bankruptcies at an all time high last year? The abuse of credit cards by so many people inexorably leads to bankruptcy for a large percentage of them, particularly younger folks. I high bankruptcy rate is a drag on the economy, albeit a relatively small one.

Job creation simply isn't happening in the kind of numbers necessary to improve the employment picture. I'm not sure they are even keeping up with population growth. (I doubt it.)

Will Americans be able to afford the products that are being manufactured overseas? That is one of the bigger questions after what kind of jobs will the New Americans have?
