Confidence in Bush slips further...

MSNBC...

The Dems need to get their act together if they even want a remote chance of beating Bush.

Discontent with Bush?s efforts to revive the economy rose from 53 percent in May to 62 percent, while 72 percent ? including 52 percent of Republicans ? said the president was not doing enough to deal with the nation?s growing health care problems.

In the April survey, the proportion who said the war was going ?very well? was 61 percent; in the new survey, it was only 23 percent. The proportion who said it was going only ?fairly well? jumped from 32 percent to 52 percent.
And almost all the rest moved into the ?not well? camp, which rose from 4 percent in April to 21 percent this month. During the war, no more than 10 percent took a negative view of the military situation in Iraq.

😀

Hardly joyous news for the Democratic hopefuls😀
Even though unhappiness with Bush?s effort to revive the economy, a critical domestic issue for the Democrats, increased from 53 percent in May to 62 percent, only 38 percent said Democrats could do a better job on another domestic issue, health care, compared with 31 percent who picked the Republicans.
That was the smallest Democratic advantage on health care in Pew?s polling since October 1994, when the Clinton administration was in the middle of what would be a failed effort to reform the health care system.

Here is the full report without the MSNBC blabber

Americans More Critical of Bush's Efforts at Home, More Anxious Over Situation in Iraq - Dem Candidates Stir Little Enthusiasm

"tell me if you happened to follow this news story very closely, fairly closely, not too closely, or not at all closely."
The publication of Hillary Clinton's book about her life: Very=8 fairly=14 not=25 not at all=52

I'm waiting for Wesley Clark, I bet he could win the nomination. He's already had more media exposure than all the other candidates. although I'm sure it would piss off all the hardcore Dems who want Dean to win.

To paraphrase Nader, "if you vote for the lesser of two evils, at the end of the day you still have evil!"

Seriously, I can't believe the Ds can't come up with a better group of candidates...at least *one* person with a clue, a bit of experience and honest-looking hair.

out of gore and bush i say we got the better, but bush is starting to scare me. as for the dems, id only be comfortabel with leiberman and he's insane, this election is actually going to be WORSE that last time. amazing. of course some coudl argue its too early to draw conclusions, since there have only been those crazy liberal only debates with sharpton going off like a mad man. to say the least im not excited but i cant agree with your philosphy supertool, its people who do stupid crap like that, that REALLY scare me.

BS like this is wht got us Dubya in the first place. Nader should go fvck himself for all I care.

thats ignorant and bush really isnt that bad. the economy is not his fault its the previous administrations fault as well as all the companies that went bankrupt. we are still the richest nation in the world i think people forget that. and if we didnt have illegals crossing the borders everyday the unemployment rate wouldnt be anywhere near what is its today. the presidant cant magically make jobs, all he does is propose a budget congress passes what ever they want

WTF are you talking about? Bush uses CA state treasury as a piggy bank for his campaign contributors. We have the most corrupt administration since teapot dome or ever in the white house, and we don't have divided government to keep it accountable. Come 2004, Bush has to go.

I would argue it is too early to draw conclusions since you have not the slightest idea of what your are talking about.

I bet less than 50% of the nation knows who Clark is, let alone his political ideals - heck, he himself doesn't know where he stands(or atleast won't say) on issues. Clark doesn't stand a chance. Maybe as a VP but no way he'll be elected President.

Had Gore been true to his beliefs, been more concerned with real issues instead of inventing stories of plight to sell his campaign contributor's agenda, had ignored his "personality handlers" and just been himself, and if the D party at it's core hadn't become so unpalatable to its supporters, Nader would have had ZERO effect on the outcome.

Besides, the Rs also shed votes to Buchanan, pretty much nullifying the Nader Effect anyway.

It was Gore's fault he lost. IIFC he didn't even win his own state.

I think it's healthy the splinter groups have formed. It keeps the Rs and Ds "real"...or at least tries to...and gives them ideas to steal, some of which are quite good.

...landscaping, dishwashing, and picking our fruit..... 😉 (guess the reference and win a  )

No one really knew who Bush(besides him being the drain bamaged son of a former Pres) was prior to his coronation. If the Democrats pick 1 guy and go with him, they have a chance. Don't forget, the next election is still 14ish months away, an eternity.

I think Gore may have been taken more seriously if he hadnt spoken like he was talking to a room full of children. He reminded me of MR Rogers, and I fully anticipated he would eventually start each day slipping on his sweater and singing "Its a beautifull day in the neighborhood". Americans dont like to be talked down to like they are stupid and he has to teach them how to think. IMHO

Dennis Kucinich is probably more liberal than Nader, he reminds me of a young Ted Kennedy in his speeches too.

I'd agree with that. Kucinich is a Liberal Hardliner and Nader is a Liberal crackpot - there is a difference.🙂

Gore just had weird public speaking skills. He should have joined a cummunity theater troupe before running for office so he could've worked on his public speaking skills. 😉
