:(

Reminds me of the scene in Full metal jacket where this dude was shooting at civilians from his chopper.

Can't a soldier get his fucking gun on anymore?!

Seriously though, the low lying fruit that makes up the army...well things like this aren't surprising. I wonder what its like to be a General and have the command of felons, villains, and junkies. General? Yeah right...more like a warden.

You mean a Major or more likely a Captain or Liutenant, a General would be the last to know about something like this.

current GF had a hysterectomy due to cancer so no worries there.

Well, then you can't marry her. Civil union, ok, but no marriage, that's only for procreation.

(Off topic, but that's sort of the point to not let bigotry be 'forgotten'. Every day gay people can't marry over that bad logic, and we forget.

Hopefully that sort of reminder helps make the point to those who need it made.)

Sick if true, sounds like Vietnam. That sergeant sounds really fucked up. Waiting for trial to get more facts though.

A friend at work has a son who was over there several years ago. It took awhile after he came back home to get back to a somewhat normal life. He finally told my friend about his first week there. He lost several buddies that were right next to him when they died. The son was manning a 50 cal when an EC came up and was about to throw a grenade at his squad. His son opened fire for a long period and when he stopped the only thing left of the EC were pieces of flesh on the ground. This was his first time shooting at someone and he closed his eyes and held the trigger. There is no training that can prepare you for that type of shock.

This is what you get when the military waves felony charges and lets criminals out of jail to join the ranks. - some talking point or other.

Basically there are shit heads everywhere and some get to hold guns.

Did I miss something in the article that said any of these soldiers were criminals or did you just pull that out of your back pocket.

Just watched ABC Nightline where they highlighted what happened at that base. Sounds like a serial killing Sgt made his troops pick out Afghan civilians to kill. Had some of the civilians hold grenades to watch them get blown apart. Friggin disgusting.

Spec Winfield facebooked his parents back in Feb about the atrocities. His parents contacted six different people in the military and a congressman to inform them of what was going on but none would help.

You'd think somewhere between Sandhurst and secret squirrel school you'd have to learn to spell "lieutenant." Particularly considering how long Brits spend as lieutenants.

So is the forum like a role playing game for you? What are you over on |H|ard forums? A famous symphony conductor? Hang glider instructor?

The President and the CO bear some responsibility for this. Putting them in a no win situation isn't right.

Yeah, your right. Bush should go to jail for getting us into this big money spending FUBAR pit...

I love how all the righties come out and make up excuses for these acts.. Yet in the same sentence they tell how screwed up Muslim people are about for the views on their faith.

This is just plain wrong. Hopefully some higher ups that ignored the warnings will be held accountable for this as well.

Brown and white, if you're talking about the rowing club one, there is none near the Stirling Lines though.
John, you've not seen the movie Ronin. I HIGHLY recommend this flick. BTW you passed.

Spence: We got shooters here and here. I tell you an old trick.
Sam: Hey...
[rubs the board]
Spence: What's your problem?
Sam: Draw again. Draw it again. You're the ace field man. Draw it again. It's a simple diagram. Just draw it again. Draw what you saw. Draw it again! Draw it again!
Sam: [Spence remains silent. Sam takes the marker and draws on the board] Two shooters. Car comes through here. Shooters across each other. Kill each other dead. Oh my, where'd you learn that?
Spence: In the regiment.
Sam: What regiment was that?
Spence: The 22nd Special Air Service.
Sam: What's the color of the boathouse at Hereford?
[repeats]
Spence: I don't like your attitude!
Sam: What's the color of the boathouse -...
Spence: Fuck off!
Sam: What's - -you got the gun. I'm unarmed. Do something. Go ahead. Do something. DO SOMETHING.
[Spence spills the coffee cup and Sam subdues him]
Sam: Tell me about an ambush. I ambushed you with a cup of coffee!

It's a problem that if you describe five soldiers who have a few people hold hand grenades to watch them blow up for fun, there is *outrage* over how a terrible evil thing that is; but if you say a bad policy for war kills 2 million Vietnamese, you get a yawn.

It's been said before, as 'Killing one man is a tragedy, killing a million men is a statistic.'

The army gets several warning signals about the Muslim soldier who shot up Fort Hood and refuses to act.

They send a professional soldier bearing rank into combat with limited knowledge of a head injury.

Not sure which is worse.

Yep, that's how it is. In fact, if you do something like this as a soldier you will go to prison but if as a president you misrepresent facts to your country and commit them to a war responsible for killing tens of thousands, two years after you leave office 35% of the country will wish that you were back in power instead of the new guy. It's quite fvcked up.

Taps on sarcasm meter.

You failed the test. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Straight to jail for you.
