weird, the APC 650VA says it allows for 21 minutes of backup time and 11 hours to recharge, but the Conext 900VA has a backup time of 52 minutes (almost 250% the time of the APC) but only takes 2-5 hours to recharge... kind of strange...

If your store is sold out, you can always order it through their kiosk, pay at the register and have them pm their instore price.

You are lucky. I bought it 28 days ago and went back for price adjustment, they refused because they say the return/exchange is only 14 days for peripherial! Anybody know exactly what is staples's policy?

I can't find any 10 off 40 right now. Only 20 off 100 or 30 off 150.

If I put up the url they will ban me.

I was shocked to find a 900VA sitting on the shelf at a Seattle Staples. The sticker even listed the $41.50 clearance price. Seattle being such a high-tech town, the shelves are usually cleared of these deals within hours, so I was surprised. Just goes to show you that it pays to check on some of these deals.

Thanks for the heads up render.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Picked one up to replace my blown 10 year old BackupsPro 650. Opened up the new one and low and behold its got the same battery as my dead backupspro 650. The 900 is the same physical dimensions of my 650 and the battery looks to be the same, battery has APC label. Not sure about the circuit board because the backups pro is all Charred:(. I bet its probably an overly rated backups pro 650.

Great Price considering I paided over 200 bucks 10 years ago!

Good Luck finding them!

Since when is a battery back-up considered a peripheral  If I were you I'd try another Staples.

If it's a computer part for INSIDE the computer it is a component.
If it's a computer part for OUTSIDE the computer it is a peripheral..

At least that's how I always thought of it..

Just saw two of each version at the Burien store just south of Seattle Wa. This is a very good deal. I'm not sure if the actual APC is worth more than the Conext, as they appear to be almost the same thing. I got the Conext yesterday.

I scored a Context 900 in DC (Georgetown). i bought the last one they had for ~43. Sweet deal.

Of course I almost got a parking ticket as I parked my motorcycle right outside of the store, just as road construction crews were cornering that lane off... including my bike. Phew...

just scored a context 900. Quick question for those who also got a conext.... was there a paper inside (looks kinda like a receipt) which lists a bunch of tests that the conext passed. Its some sort of QA and was included with my unit. My unit doesnt look to be in "new" condition. Also, the AVR function dont seem very effective as my speakers still crackle when I turn other appliences on. Kinda worried here.....

Yeah, mine had the same piece of paper. When I opened it up, I thought "What's this receipt doing in here?". Why don't think your's is new? Mine has a big dent in the side, but the box was pretty banged up.

AVR is Automatic Voltage Regulation. It's purpose is to correct under-voltage situations without relying on the battery. It has no effect on noise.

There were still two left at the South Bend, IN. store as of 1 pm Friday after I got one, they had stickers on them stating the $41.50 price and on the shelf. They were with all the other UPS's on the bottom shelf.

None at the Elkhart/Goshen storethat I could find.

Still 2 of each left at the Dedham, MA store but when the cashier saw the price I think he went and bought himself one.

My friend's computer speaker used to hiss and pop when his fridge cycle on and off. After he hooked up a AVR UPS to the speakers, it stopped. I was hoping it would help me also, but doesnt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont AVR provide a constent "clean" voltage... and arent voltage fluctuations causing my speakers to hiss and pop?

Mine power cord was all sticky, like it was taped over and then the tape was remover but the adhesive stayed.

Anyone else found this paper with their unit besides david?

My cord was the same. It's just the foam packing sticking to the cord. These units have been on the shelf for upwards of 2 years.
