Conductive pen/ink for volt mod question

I'm going to be doing the VCORE mod for an ASRock 939Dual. It says that I need to use a conductive pen or ink. Is there anything else that would work that is either cheaper or that I might already have? For example, what's wrong with just using a #2 pencil like you might for a CPU unlock?

If not, does anyone know of a good place (online or locally) to buy either? I've found a few places, but I want to make sure I'm not overpaying and whatnot.

Pencil might work, but I would use conductive paint from a rear window deffoger repair kit myself That mod is too easy.

The pencil should work if its a short trace. However, the pencil tends to almost "degrade" over time. You'll find yourself needing to redo the mod every so often when using pencil.

Well Radio Shack didn't work. The guy working there shook his head no and gave me a look that said "I've never heard the word 'conductive" before." I think I'll just buy one online and lose $5 or so. I'm going to use a pencil initially, but replace the pencil trace with the pen with it comes.

You actually beleived what some Radio Shack flunky said? Half the time I have to tell them what they have and what it does. Look up the p/n online and call them, have them look it up in their comp to see if they actually have it.

Go to an auto parts store and get a rear window defroster repair kit for $10-$12

Radio Shack... Caig CircuitWriter Pen... $12.99... just picked one up and modded my DFI Ultra-D to SLI-D
