Condom sales are booming

Who buys condoms? Go to the local health department and get them for just about free.

I think its the Title X Family Planning Program gives pills, depo shots, IUD and condoms for reduced rates based on your income.

Actually, lots of states cut that funding. When I was in college, there was this clinic next door. They had a basket of condoms for the taking. Going to college in a city where half the population is college students....that basket was always near empty everyday. By the time I graduated, they cut that funding and ceased the free condoms.

They are thinking long term...more babies = more taxpayers later on 😉

The funding is based on several factors, number of reported STD cases is one of the factors. When the STD rates go down, the funding is cut with the mindset that the program is no longer needed.

When STD rates start to go up, the people on the federal and state level scratch their heads and wonder what is going on. After a couple of years of studies, the funding is returned.

The money is out there, but certain conditions have to be met before the grants are issued. If the county does not meet the conditions, then the money is not awarded.
