Condaleeza Rice named National Security Advisor

XMan

So far it looks some highly qualified people are going into Cabinet positions . . . any thoughts?

I think he should appoint Stormin' Norman as Secretary of Defense. Bush/Powell/Schwarzkopf. There might be some little tin horn dictator that would be a bit unhappy. HeHe.

Russ, NCNE

I'm reminded of that SNL skit with Dana Cavey as George H. Bush.

(lights off)

"We've got night vision, Saddam. Realllllly scary. You'll like out in the night, and all you'll see are these little red dots in the darkness. Spooky, huh?"

"EEEEEEEEEEK!"

(lights on)
"Come here, Dan, I was just playing. It's all right . . ." 😀

Looks like quotas to me.... 🙂 Come on, he is filling the positions minorities and the dweeb couldnt even muster 5% of the African-American vote, Do you think they will really change their mind? Ditto for the Hispanic community, He was supposed to do well here in CA. with the hispanics and did worse than Dole or his Dad. Blatent and predictable.

SHUX

Let's say he filled the cabinet full of wasps.

The democrats would whine that he was racist and not inclusive.

Let's say he picks the best people available irregardless of race.

The democrats will whine quotas and ulterior motives.

The only common thing, DEMOCRATS WILL WHINE no matter what he does.

edit, corrected spelling

Gee, Shuxclams. Would you rather he filled his Cabinet with utter incompetents a la Janet Reno? Let his wife begin a national health care program, perhaps? Assign an utter wimp who has never served in the militaty as Secretary of Defense? Hmmmm.

Condoleezza Rice could mop the floor with Jocelyn Elders. I think she certainly stands on her own merit--it would be pretty cheap to be talking about quotas here. Democrats have nobody but themselves to thank that their entirely NON-colorblind outlook on society causes people to even think the word "quota" in high-profile selections like this.

I knew very little about Condolezza Rice when I started seeing her name everywhere weeks ago when the speculation started regarding Bush's Cabinet. She's definitely a top-notch appointment. People say nothing but good things about her.

Colin Powell wants Bush to pick Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge for Secretary of Defense. He is a Vietnam Veteran. Cheney apparently likes former Indiana Senator Dan Coats.

It'll be interesting to see who gets picked.

Are you Hypnotized or just sheep? Its about looking like a "Uniter not a divider", for crying out loud the shmuck lost the popular vote, got an amazing desiscion from the USSC to get the remaining votes needed for the presidency and the economy is slowing to a halt, HE NEEDS SOMETHING TO LOOK GOOD!

Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-baaaaaaaaaaah!

SHUX

Shux,

BAAAAAAA!

If anyone is a sheep it is you. You keep spewing forth with the same nonsense over and over again. We all know that you've swallowed every ounce of Democratic propaganda that has been fed to you during the presidential campaign. Each and every post you make does nothing more but attack those whose beliefs are contrary to those which you've been led to believe are your own.

Shuxclams

Often times we are opposed. Ok, I was being kind!😉 But in this case you are being pigheaded. YOU name a more qualified person for every cabinet post.

You may think GW is a moron, but so far his cabinet appointments are a stroke of genius! Unlike Clinton, he is doing what he says....and you'd better get used to it!😎

<< but so far his cabinet appointments are a stroke of genius! >>

I agree 100%, this is politics ladies... these moves are qualified picks, they also fit the aganda of "healing the nation". Bush is a popular as a KKK rally in a Synagog with Minorities, as I pointed out it is a calculated and well ochastriated move meant for the masses as a feel good gesture. You will see an big attempt to get a DEMOcrat in his cabnit as well. This doesnt however mean that you have to believe the hype.

PC, I am really getting sick of idiots such as you calling me a "Liberal" "pinko" "commie" etc, I am nowhere near that, I am closer to a anarchist than a leftist.....understand? Good.

Get a grip. First of all, find me an instance where I resorted to name calling as you describe. I called you a sheep, as you exhibit the same behavior of which you accuse everyone else. Secondly, try posting something that doesn't contain the same complaints, whining, and personal attacks over and over again. Maybe that will change the perception of the "idiots" you speak of, which I am not part.

Thank you, drive through.

Russ, got your glasses on?

Then you have no argument. Debate over, you lose, move on.

Okay, how about Brainless Buffoon, Myopic Moron, or Vacuous Vitriolholic?

[/b]Your right Russ, I will never be able to teach sheep how to think for themselves.

So what's your complaint, Shuxclams? You admit the appointments are well-qualified. Conservatives can see that his appointments are good moves politically just like everyone else. You call us sheep, yet nobody in this thread has been denying that point.

If Bush had snatched some under-qualified token minorities out of obscurity and tossed them into his cabinet, I would agree with you that his picks were more about appearance than merit. That is definitely not the case here.

Would you be happier if he had made a horrible political miscalculation in picking his cabinet? Our point is that it doesn't matter whether or not they're minorities, or how that plays to the media. What matters is that these are some fine, well-qualified people that Bush has selected (so far, who knows what the rest of the cabinet will shape up to be).
