twice. the first time i saw them, during the quiet parts you could hear the crowd crying. grown men were doubled over, sobbing.

not bad for a band where you can't even understand the lyrics, because there are no lyrics, just syllables. just raw musical power.

They are a band from Iceland. They speak in icelandic in many of their songs. So we dont have a clue what they are saying(well you can look it up)but the music and the voice are so amazing that no one cares. It is truely a total music experiance.

Here

he sung in icelandic on the first albums. after that, he just sung in gibberish that the singer calls "Hopelandic." I understand there is a small amount of minimalist poetry that goes along with some of it... but even when there are lyrics, they are EXTREMELY simple. usually just a couple lines of something obscure.

but yeah, they are amazing. i have "()" on LP and it's even more amazing sounding than the CD version. I also have the short set they did opposite Radiohead for that dance performance in NYC on LP. It's a 20 minute trip. The other side of the record is decorated with little drawings carved into the vinyl itself. Very freaking cool.

Awesome man. I wish i could have seen radiohead and sigur ros together. That would be the deff of the ultimate tour. The very deff..not questions asked.

For those that want to see what they are and what its like... here are two links

One is Yahoo but it doesnt have the best sound quality...so thats kinda not worth it since the band is all about the music and less about the visual.

And the other is a Music Video for their new song..high res..Good Sound Quality deff worth the download. Now I realize that some people with short attention spans and a love for emo music might not like it..but if you listen the whole way through I think some people will enjoy it. I realize its not everyones cup of tea.

They also hae a bunch of just songs to listen to on their site in the media section if u cant stomach the download size.
