For those of you that have your concealed carry license, what gun do you carry with you?

How do you carry it? Like what type of holster? Do you end up wearing more clothing to help conceal it or what?

I'd like to carry something since I got my license, but unless I'm wearing my coat or jacket, I'm not sure how I can really conceal it.

My Bersa Thunder is the smallest footprint pistol I have. Next would probably be my SA 1911 Mil-Spec, but I'm not very proficient with it yet. I'm most proficient with my Taurus PT99 but that thing is huge.

I dont want to start a gun ownership flame thread, but why would someone need to conceal a weapon on them?

Thank you for clarifying that for me. Besides having the "right", why would you or anyone for that matter want or need to conceal a weapon on themselves?

S&W .40 cal, specialty made shoulder/ hip holster (depending on where I want to carry it) and who gives a cr4p if someone knows that I'm carrying a gun! Although I tend to wear my shirts one size larger cuz I have a weird sized torso (and no I'm not deformed, nor am I a "G").

After a couple of days you won't even know it's there.

I carry a gun due to the fact that sometimes I handle and deposit large sums of cash. Was robbed three times, shot once. Since having the gun -and making sure everyone knew I had one, a path magically clears as I go to the bank and no one has "accidentally" pulled in front of my car.

1) in some states its illegal to NOT conceal it

2) the most obvious reason is self preservation.

So you want to start a flame thread. He asked a question, come in and answer it. Don't act like you're not looking to flame someone.

You carry for protection. Why else would you lawfully carry a gun?

to the OP. When I do carry I keep it on my back and just wear a larger size pant an shirt.

I'll give you another scenario. When I have to close the club. I am often there till 3-4 am counting money by myself. Yes the Doors are locked but I am a target especially when I lock up and leave with the cash and walk to my car.

Concealed Carry Weapon laws have decreased the violent crime rate in EVERY STATE they have been introduced in.

Criminals think twice about robbing people if there's a chance their prey aren't defenseless.

Not too long ago there was that shooting in that mall. I would of definitely wanted a way to protect myself in a situation like that.

When I was about 12 my family was actually in a mall when a shooting happened and my dad was sitting down the walkway from where it happened. Granted the chances of something like that happening are slim. I'm currently saving for a H&K USPC 9mm and plan on getting my CCL.

OP, in what state are you carrying? Typically, the law is written so that the firearms is covered and out of sight. Depending on how your state law is written, "concealed" doesn't mean that the firearm can't "print". Printing is having the outline of a firearm visible; wearing a tight fitting shirt pulled over the firearm.

In Virginia, I've carried in a side holster with a t shirt tucked in to my pants and just an open, unbuttoned shirt over the top. Careful doing that in your state. Some state's have laws about proper concealment as well as their own definition of brandishing. Also, check up on your state's open carry laws. They will both tie together and can help protect you if you ever accidentally and innocently expose your firearm. Read them and know them well!

People that aren't into guns or know the law will not even realize you have a firearm. It's just not something people think about if they aren't into the hobby or have a permit of their own.

The fun is you trying to spot people that conceal carry. Ever see a guy wearing a fanny-pack? What about a "photography vest"?

OP - also you should consider a hand gun self defense course if you will be CC'ing daily. Shooting on a range doesn't transfer to a self defense situation.

Good ol' Tennessee doesn't require that the weapon be concealed, so i usually just wear it exposed on the hip, or in a shoulder holster if I'm wearing a suit or jacket.

If it's not readily accessible, it's useless.

I have a Kel-Tec P3AT in an uncle mikes #0 in my front right pocket.

People say that the .380 is too small of a round. Well it's large enough if you can get to it. Having something concealed under a coat or tucked in your pants with a shirt tucked in just makes it more difficult to get to.

I can fire of 7 rounds of .380 before anyone can get a single shot off from a IWB .45

You think some guy robbing you at gunpoint is going to let you untuck your shirt...

Right now I have a OWB Wild Bill's fusion paddle holster for my XD9... but I don't carry it on me, even though in NC I could carry openly without a CCW permit. I'll probably use the OWB for IDPA matches if I get started in that... and get a Crossbreed that's so popular on the xdtalk forums once I do get my CCW permit. Or more realistically order the Crossbreed ASAP since there's a 8-10 week wait. ;)

I carry a Glock 17 9mm in a holster on my left side where the handle is facing forwards. I have only carried it with my leather jacket that can concealed it. I once went to Olive Garden with the GF one day and took my jacket off and it was just dangling at my side. The person across the isle from us gave me strange looks (A half smirk/silly grin) but nobody else even noticed, not even my GF...

I am not required to conceal it in my state (MN), and I could carry around my AR-15 assault rifle if I wanted to and bring it anywhere due to the permit not really being a conceal carry PISTOL permit, however, I do try to conceal it so I don't have people calling the cops on me saying "there is a man with a gun in here." But if you don't conceal it, its not a big deal, people just think you are an undercover cop or something and don't really create a fuss.

Make a wrong turn, or get off the beaten path in, N.O., or D.C. and you will know.
