i was at the colbert report last night. boy was i in for a treat. a 3-for-1 :D
they kept saying before the show "you guys will be surprised, we have 2 surprise guests for you so remember to shout!" i knew something was up when they emailed/announced that the taping will be delayed for one hour (so jon stewart can be freed up from his show)

it was great show and the stage is so much smaller in person (it looks bigger on tv), now i just have to go watch conan's show (missed it after i got home)

i personally think they're running out of materials and decide to do these crossovers to kill time and stay funny, but it must be hard to do all these shows without the writers.

I reserved my tickets. i got lucky. there is a standby line though.
they allow probably ~100 people in, people who reserved tickets have to get on line before their listed time (5pm normally, 6pm last night to wait for stewart to be done, and its about 1hour wait before you're seated down), if they dont fill it up with VIPs (people with connections) and people who reserved they call on people on the standby line to fill up the show.

get tickets:
Colbert - http://www.comedycentral.com/s.../tickets/tickets.jhtml
Stewart - http://www.thedailyshow.com/tickets.jhtml

if they say they're not available, you have to check frequently, for example last night there were still 3 available shows for colbert. but now its only stewart that you can get tickets for. i check this page once in a while.

i've been on stewart before as a VIP, but first time going to see Colbert, needless to say, the gf and I were glad we showed up on the right day :D

This was pretty funny to watch over the past couple of days....I'm kinda waiting to see if Letterman will jump in on the act....but doubtful.
