First and foremost, I know it's cool to say, "He was never funny to begin with."

That's great if you never found him funny.

I'm asking for those who DID like him and found him funny on NBC, then you got sick of him on TBS.

He's just not that funny anymore and it looks like he's too aware of self-deprecation humor and his own fame.

Anyone else who WERE fans agree?

I keep meaning to watch his show on TBS, but I've never seen it. I was a huge fan of him on NBC, but I'm not even sure when it's on now. Have you seen Conan O'Brien Can't Stop? It's awesome and if you like him even a little bit, it's worth a watch.

I loved Conan on Late Night... when he moved to the Tonight Show he changed and I didn't find him funny. His behavior during and after that fiasco really turned me off to him. I haven't followed him since.

I haven't kept up with his work, but it's also possible that your sense of humor has simply evolved away from Conan's.

Yeah, he changed to match his audience somewhat; lost a lot of the absurdity that made his original show so awesome (after the first season or two which were painful). I would have assumed he could go back to that on TBS, but maybe he's lost it?

I felt the opposite.

Before his 'absurd' humor worked because it was natural.

On TBS, it seems they're forced and exaggerated to match his clearly manifested prime audience = the college kids and 20s.

I'm 29 btw.

Erm, I think maybe you misunderstood what I was saying? The original Late Night with Conan was awesome because the insanity of it all did indeed seem natural and hilarious, but when he went to The Tonight Show he seemed to change how he did things to match the older audience. I have not seen the new show, so cannot comment on that, I was just speculating that he may have lost some of that edge he originally had.

I get the feeling that he has bosses that tell him what to do and when to do it, like we all do to a certain extent. He can't just do whatever he wants.

I started watching him and Andy about 14 years ago. I was disappointed when NBC fired him and happy to watch him again on TBS. But a few months ago I stopped DVRing him as I just didn't care to watch anymore. *shrug*

I LOVED Conan when his show first came on the air, when he was teamed up with Andy Richter, they were an amazing duo.

I liked him on and off since then, however, at some point they went from being some little obscure low budget show with new or unknown guests into a huge big budget show with really popular guests that we already all have heard of since they have been on 1000 other shows and in the papers a million times. Some point during that transition, the show lost a bit of it's edginess and "spark" IMO.

I still think Conan is a funny guy, but his acts just sorta got old.

I started watching Conan 10-11 years ago and found him hilarious. I've caught a few of the episodes since he's been on TBS and it's not the same so I stopped DVRing.

I always liked Conan as an occasional watch - maybe once every few months. I watched the TBS show once and found it odd - the set looks very small and kind of seedy, and he still seems to carry a certain amount of residual anger that makes him less funny. I remember seeing him interviewed on 60 Minutes shortly after he was fired from the Tonight Show and he seemed bitter and inclined to dwell excessively on the way he was treated by NBC (they showed him performing some songs that made his post-Tonight Show live tour look unwatchable). That seems to have stayed with him.

I predicted from the time NBC first announced that he was taking over for Jay Leno (which was then some years away) that the move to the Tonight Show was a bad idea. Once they put on the Leno prime time show it was only a matter of time until the whole thing imploded and Conan was left holding the bag. You'd think he would have learned something from what happened when Andy Richter left his show in the hopes of finding greener pastures. In any case I have a hard time mustering much sympathy for someone who was effectively paid $40M not to work.

He was pretty funny when he had to do most of the stuff unscripted during the writer strike a few years back.

It's not a matter of "being cool" to say Conan was never funny...it's a matter of being accurate....or at least, of voicing an opinion.

I never understood why people thought the ginger was humerous. Then again, I don't get Jimmy Fallon either. There's nothing funny about his show...more stupidity than funny.

Well, his budget is not like 1/20th of what it used to be, so he can't do elaborate sketches and bits anymore, but I still find him entertaining.

Never was a fan of him or George Lopez.

They just ended George's show and won't be long before they throw the kill switch on Conan.
