(1) to designate an appropriate year as ?The National Year of the Bible?; and (2) to issue a proclamation calling upon citizens of all faiths to rediscover and apply the priceless, timeless message of the Holy Scripture which has profoundly influenced and shaped the United States and its great democratic form of Government, as well as its rich spiritual heritage, and which has unified, healed, and strengthened its people for over 200 years.

They must have meant to leave me out as it never: unified me with my Christian overlords, never healed me, never conferred strength to me. Maybe they can celebrate all of the millions the OT god killed or ordered killed in his name. A rich part of our heritage to be sure.

I would demand equal time and call for designating a year of no belief to recognize free thought and free choice. Those that "thought outside the Book" have made many contributions to our society as well.

It is not a law, its a resolution.
That still makes it a stupid waste of time though.

I know one Republican who won't be of any support of this mess.

What a waste of time and resources.

It would be great if people learned from history that the world is a better place when they keep their religion to themselves.

So they want people of all faiths including non-Christian religions to follow the bible?

Wow.

Magic 8 ball says- "Not going anywhere"

BTW, weren't we admonished by some recently when the gun right supporters brought up something which pretty much had no chance of passing? ;)
