Went to the CompUSA in Lynnwood, WA this morning about 20 minutes after opening. They had plenty of everything. I picked up the CD-Rom, Kodak CD-R's, and the Little Tykes doodle pad thingy and cheapie Gravis joystick (the last 2 for my 3 year old). Gotta love free stuff!!

Also picked up an APC SurgeArrest strip for $9.99 (after $10 instant rebate), these things are $18.56 at buy.com, not a bad deal.

hey if anyone else gets one I'll give you $15 for it shipped, you can have all the rebates (so it's free for you) i'll just transfer you $15 by paypal

e-mail me if interested, or i could give you $40 for one and i"ll handle the rebate, same price in the long run

COMPUSA is SOOO CHEAP!!!! They hide so many spinelds of blank CDS in the garage so no one can buy them. They also hide the CD ROMs back in the garage. I found many of these CD Roms behind the door that says "EMPLOYEES ONLY".
The CD Rom's box looks EXACTLY same as advertised, also, on the back of the box says it runs at 40X. Yet, COMPUSA put a sticker on the top to make it X56 and have another sticker on the top of the sku to make it different than the one is advertised. I think they just want to fool people that it's not the one advertised, so it's not FREE. CHEAP COMPUSA!!!!!!!!

(Why do I need to sneak into their garage to find out all these???)

I bought the 'free' 40x cdrom. It's a 45x, at least thats what it says on the cover. Installed fine, zero problems there. It makes a slight grind noise every now and then on cd insert but it doesnt do anything to the cd so it must be something in the drive itself. But anythow it's very fast and does DAE at 4x, which is what we bought it for on our 2nd computer.

Whom ever suggested that compusa would restock this morning was wrong, they didn't at all. There goes my beauty sleep ;(

Anyway, to people who bought:
1. cuseem pro need to check if you got two rebates, one red one and one orange one, each worth $20.

2.Edura pro 4.2 there seems to be a problem with the rebate, go check it out then head to Compusa as soon as possible to resolve the problem. There seems to be $10 missing, and the rebate on box has already expired, 07/31/00.

AWWWW
Even though I couldn't peek at their garage but I do believe you are right, because there were only like 5 of them on the shelf yesterday.

xDeLiRiOuSx: Sure, I remember you! Thanks for your help at the rebate table. (By the way, my wife says I should remind you that I was the "big dork" standing outside next to you. :D)
