My car keeps stalling. I need to add GAS or something. Or change the oil. Damn, confusing! Seat belts? WHAAA? 🙂

My computer is not out of gas, nor does it need an oil change. Yes, the problem w/ it is my fault, but I'd hardly have it fixed in the time it takes to fill up my car w/ gas if I "knew how to use one".

hehe, i get this way often 🙂

if you look at the front page of my site, you'll see it says "computers suck @ incise.org", i put that there when in the same type of mood 🙂

they do suck ass sometimes, but they're alot of fun too.
 
I feel your pain, I was working on mine the other day and I was having trouble putting the memory in. I checked to see if it was upside down but it wasn't and once i finally snapped it in some of the socket nubs that hold my heatsink on broke and the AX-7 I was using destroyed my 9700Pro. The card wont even let any computer I put it in post. 😱🙁.

i swear sometimes I want to punch my monitor. after i got used to my last system, a dual 400 mhz celeron, I said to myself that I won't dick around with computers anymore. I hate fighting with these stupid machines. Had that system for 3 years. Then I got struck by the bad capacitor run. Squandered many, many more hours after that getting a new system to run. I hate thinking about how much of my life I've squandered on being my own tech and stuff.

I was, and it was working.... and then I ran "make install" for kdegraphics and now it wont run at all.

I like being on the bleeding edge, but I learned five years ago that compiling from source is the quickest way to hose a system. Just wait for the vendor to release proper (and well tested) packages.

Sometimes I'm desperate and I'll install (3rd party) built-for Red Hat packages onto my SuSE box, and most times it works just fine. I wouldn't try that for a big ass suite like KDE though. Heck, so far I'm chicken enough to wait for KDE 3.1.1 before updating.

Did you see big improvements while it was working?
