Hi,

I have a strange problem I've never run into before. I recently bought/built a new computer for a family member. I built it at my home, got the OS installed, patched, etc. Everything was working fine.

I brought it over to them after getting it up and running, and the thing will not power on... It was dead. I tried different power cables, different outlets, in a power strip/surge protector, without. I opened it up, reseat all the cables from the power supply. Disconnect case switch and reconnect, etc. Nothing would work.

I was on the way to my friends house so I brought it with me. Plugged it in at their house, worked fine first try. I brought it back to my family members house, and to my suprise, worked fine.

So what could cause something to be completely dead the first time I delivered it?

I did notice after hooking it up the last time, that the bios had its logo screen on and I had that off when I installed it originally. So I am thinking that this issue could be related to the MB, and it might have reset itself? Is that even possible?
