1. Overview of the problem
Comp does not turn on.

2. Full description of the problem and symptoms
Playing CoD4 the night before, shut down and next morning computer won't start. Pressing the power button doesn't do anything.

3. Did it work normally at one time, or has the problem always existed?
Worked fine prior to me trying to turn it on this morning.

4. Is the problem consistent and repeatable, or entirely random, or semi-random?
N/A

5. I already tried these steps:
1.moving comp to another outlet
2.unplugging and replugging all the power connections.

6. My software:

* Windows XP 64
* Kaspersky

7. My hardware

* GIGABYTE GA-EX38-DS4 775 X38
* Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 OC'd to 3ghz
* MSI 8800 GT
* 2gx2 crucial ballistic x2 = 8g total
* Seasonic SS650HT

8. Other information that might be relevant
(any other information that might be related to the problem)

Nothing was installed prior to this happening. No heat issues either, comp has alot of 120mm fans and room is relatively cool.
My firefox browser was acting up, when i save tabbed windows and reopen later, firefox would give me that oops message that it was having trouble opening up 1 or more windows, but I can't see how this is related to my comp not even turning on.
I don't have another PSU to try and see if that is directly the problem.
Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks.

Does the light on the motherboard turn on.?

I feel the PSU might be the culprit, remove all the extra fans and then try once again.

get another PSU to test with. You need to get the system to power up before you can see if there are any other problems.

There is a small chance that the power button on the case has gown bad. In which case you need to unplug that switch and use a screw driver to trporarly touch the 2 pins and see if the system powers on. If it does then you have a bad switch. If not its a PSU issue. You can allso look at all the capacitors on the motherboard. Make sure none of them are buldging. If they are then you have a bad board.

Thanks for the replies. I went over the motherboard with a fine tooth comb, all the capacitors look fine, no bulging, misshapen, or discoloration.
I also checked the switch connection and touched the 2 pins on the motherboard, and that didn't do anything. However, when i was reaching into the motherboard to do that, I could hear a very faint clicking sound coming from the PSU. Guess i'm going to have to send this back to Seasonic and wait for a new one. I might just buy another brand though, seeing that it might take some time to send this one back, wait for them to check it and then send me another one. Reading reviews on newegg shows that there have been some problems with these PSU's. It's an overall good PSU's, but seems to have it's fair share of duds.
So now my question is this, can anyone recommend a good quiet 650w PSU? Thanks again.

You might try unplugging all drives from the PSU and then try to turn on the system. I would also try removing all add-on cards (aside from video) then try booting.

ps: try resetting cmos then booting.
