When I turn on the computer, it turns on for 3-5 seconds then turns offs, turns and for another 3-5 seconds and this cycle repeats itself. can anyone here help me out please?

I seem to recall this being an issue with some of the Gigabyte P35 boards, I didn't realize it happened the the IP35's also.

First of all, has the computer been working up to this point? In other words, are these new parts that you just assembled and they don't work, or is it a new development in a PC that used to be working just fine?

If it had been working before, were you overclocking?

Have you tried resetting the CMOS?

Gigabyte boards usually do that as they turn down memory timings to find something that works. Did you recently install new memory? Have you tried resetting the CMOS?

I recently added 4GB of RAM to my system to get a total of 6GB, and I had to relax my memory timings in order for it to boot.

Yeah, clear your CMOS with the jumper. I was having some WEIRD quirks with my setup after a hardware change before I cleared CMOS. Once it was cleared, it was running perfect from then on.

What BIOS verison you using?

If it does it repeatedly, it could be something shorting your power button; might want to disconnect it just to rule it out. The P35 boards I've had just do it once and then come up normally.
