Computer wont start

I just recieved a new case filled with all the new parts i had ordered (the store put everything together) I then bought a new case and transferred everything into there...but my pc wont turn on at all. I've tried the power box in my old motherbaord and it works....so its something else. And the power sw is in the right place....
the system im trying to get to run is a kt7a, 1.4 ghz....

please help

When you transfered the stuff to the new case did you use standoffs to mount the motherboard?

Err, I dont know the term standoffs actually, but to mount the mother board all i used was screws...

Standoffs are brass colored, usually, and they come with your case. They have a hole in one end so a screw will go in and the other end has a screw end so it will go into the case. The standoffs are to keep the bottom of your board from touching the case. There should be a standoff for each screw you put in your motherboard.

Unless the case is designed so you don't need standoffs, you are shorting your board. Hopefully the powersuply hasn't powered up and blown your motherboard, you still may be able to get it to work - after you put standoffs in.

i dont believe ive seen the powerbox power up at all yet.....
dear god first i blow out a 1.2 chip now im on the verge of finding out i shorted my mobo ahhh

Take your time, don't put any extra in. If you feel you need support someplace but there isn't a screw hole, some cases include a few plastic standoffs that you can modify and they won't short your board.
