I just got done building a computer but when I go to shutdown the screen shuts down but the computer fans and lights on the board continue to run. HELP>
It is an amd 64 3000+ on an epox board. It is the nforce 4 ultra board.

Have you checked to see that the connectors that come from the case power button are ALL on the correct connector pins on the motherboard and ALSO that they are ALL on in the correct direction (polarity).

Check your motherboard owner's manual for the correct orientation of these connectors.

Does it just show Windows and say "its now ok to shutdown" or something like that? If so you need to enable APM. Its in the Power Options in the Control Panel.

It shut down the screen like normal but not the board. Anyway it was a bios issue. I downloaded the new bios again and ran it. It worked and now it shuts down like normal. Something happened in loading the bios I guess.
