We had a power failure yesterday but my UPS carried me through it. After about 5 minutes I decided to shut down my computer (my monitor was on a different UPS and had already lost power) so I pushed the power button to initiate the shutdown sequence in XP and then I shut off power to the UPS to stop the beeping after the computer had shut off. Anyway, I forgot about my computer until today so I turned the power on to the UPS and then turned the computer on and walked away. Ten minutes later I came back to it and and found the monitor off and nothing happening with the system so I pushed the power button to turn it off again but nothing happened this time. Then I held the power button for at least ten seconds and it still didn't shut the computer off so I had to switch the PSU off. I've tried disconnecting the drives, clearing the CMOS, and changing the PSU but nothing fixes it. The computer turns on, the fans, HDDs, and optical drives spin up and then nothing happens.
