I recently build a new computer a couple weeks ago with these specc :
amd x2 4200+
epox 9npa ultra
2 gigs of rams
2 sata seagate hard drive
enermax 420w psu
evga 7800gt.

Everything has working perfectly so far until last night. I was playing World of warcraft until it froze up. I tried to restart it and it wont post. The cpu, mobo, psu and video cards are brand new. I reused the rams and hard drive. I tried to reset the cmos but no dice. Lcd monitor and video cards work fine because i plugged them into another computer. dont think the rams went bad because there are 2 sticks of them and the chance of them went bad at the same times are really small. The psu seem working because all 4 fans are spinning along with 2 fans on the psu, the motherboard LED lights are also on and the hard drive are spinning also. The temperature inside the case at start up are 27 C and underload are 42 C.

Help please, i really have no idea what going on? What are the sign for a dead cpu or dead motherboard?

It is possible, amongst other things, that your vid card overheated.
Can you take it out, and see if it smells burnt or looks iffy.

Lcd monitor and video cards work fine because i plugged them into another computer.

Unplug power to computer.

Disconnect the cdrom & hard drives from the mainboard, remove all extra cards except video. Remove both sticks of ram and only re-insert 1.

Remove cmos battery if there is one.
Reconnect power and power it on.

Is there any POST beep?

If its still not working then remove the single stick of memory and power it on and see if you get any POST beep without memory. Probably wont.

Then put in the other memory stick and see if same issue.

Could be cpu, mainboard went out. Got another cpu or mainboard to try?

Video card is ok because i put them into another system and it works fine. when i put it back in, that system wont post. I will try what A.K.A recommend.
edited: would the system still post with bad ram ?

Ok, i did what A.K.A said and it not working either. Next step would be putting the cpu into the other system and that would narrow down to the motherboard.

Sorry, i forgot. no beep at all. The mobo has an onboard diagnotisc (debug) code and it came up with a C1. Ofcourse that code isnt list on the mobo manual and email sent to epox tech support is unanswer at the moment. Anyone have any idea how long it would take for email tech support ?

Thanks for the link, i have 2 memory sticks and it hard to believe that they both work fine for 2 weeks and dead at the same time. I will put other memory stick and check it out.
Thanks for the help.
