Hi,
I have a problem with a computer. The computer don't want to start at all. The fans spins and all, including the cpu fans, and the power buttons works to power on the fans, but nothing appears on the screen and I can't hear any beeps.
Please help me

Check vid cable connections, Check monitor power connection, power cycle the monitor to detect input if it has multiple inputs or try to toggle input, try a different monitor, reseat video card, try a different video card.... I am assuming the system is posting successfully and you are not getting video signal for some reason. Is this a new system? Is it a new video card?

It's used parts that I put together. I tried both a pci and an agp video card. When I start the computer, the led on the screen becomes green for a second, then it show "no video signal", and then the monitors shuts down again.

Try disconnecting everything from the mobo except
psu
cpu/fan
mobo sound
What happens?
If you don't get beeps, then it is one of those components that is playing up

Yep I'm trying with just the essential "core" of the computer.
So, do I need to replace a component or something in your opinion?

Hi,
If the system still has a problem with just the mobo/psu/cpu,
Then it is more than likely gonna be down to one of those components.
I personally would go for dodgy cpu or mobo,
so - where did you get the bits from? were they lying around in anti-static bags? for long? near to a radiator? etc etc - if you know the history of the components, then which was is more likely to have been mistreated?

I have the same problem with a computer w/built-in video and sound. I am getting no signal but the psu fan and cpu fan are coming on. I first thought it was my hard drive crashed but then I realized it was not even loading the bios. I have a new cpu on order so maybe that solve my problem.
As far as Missing Ghost problem it must be either the processor or the mb.

Speedwagon, let us know how the new cpu goes.

Always best to follow fartbag's advice (not something I say to people off the forums usually) at the top of this post before replacing anything.

I had the same problem like I discussed before but was waiting on the cpu to be delivered. Well I got the new cpu installed and it didn't make a difference. Anyway I got checking around the forums and found others with same problem and they advised checking the psu. So I had a spare power supply laying aroung and swapped them out and it now POST. I thought since the fan on the psu was working that it couldn't be the problem. I will now check the power supply first.
Good Luck Missing Ghost!

Speedwagon - cheers for the pm,

BUT, just to tell everyone else, cos they might have the same problem and they would love to know the solution -
IT WAS THE PSU

Nice one for fixing it.
