We think we need more info :D Could you hit Quote and replace my fictitious info with your info on this template, as far as you know it? Adapt as needed for your board's slot loadout (PCI Express, etc). If this is giving you brain overload, at least give the brand & model of your PSU, the CPU model and the cards and drives.

1) freebie power supply + 3.2GHz Prescott. See anything wrong with that picture? ;) Get a quality PSU, man, here's a suggested one: Enermax Whisper II with a 33-amp 12-volt rail. By comparison, I see your freebie PSU maxes out at 20 amps :p.

2) do you have this cable (if applicable) and this super-important cable plugged in, plus the Asus EZ Plug (see manual, it's the 4-pin receptacle just next to the main 24-pin receptacle). Having the power is one thing, delivering it is important too.

3) if you're using a USB keyboard, try a PS/2 keyboard.

Hope that helps, good luck :)

You might look at the owner's manual and see if they list the Corsair ValueSelect stuff as passing or not-passing on their Qualified Vendor List. I'd download it to see, but I'm stuck on 56k dial-up so it takes a while.

You might think 20 amps on 12V is more than enough, and it might be more than enough on paper, but after 20,000+ posts I've learned that cheap power supplies are a frequent theme when people's computers are unstable or won't run. Having a relatively-demanding CPU like a 3.2GHz Prescott doesn't help. So if the new mobo and RAM won't work either, then consider trying a recognized high-quality aftermarket PSU, preferably either a strong dual-rail like maybe an Antec TruePower 2.0 550W, or a good beefy single-rail model like that Enermax.

Good luck, hope it works out :)

well the corsair ram i got is NOT on the QVL, however its good ram and is same voltage cas latencey and timings as ram on the QVL so it should work, gettign new board and ram fro the QVL sometime next week
also even if the 20amps isnt enough to run the system, it shoudl still start-up and go into the bios/setup fine with onyl the ram/cpu/ video card hooked up. Also strapped for cash what good pus with dual 12v ralsi can i get fro under $60
Thanks (and yep those 22000 post are impressive)
